PT Ortho Questions: Pass the test without breaking the bank

Questions are good, supporting evidence for answers to boot!
Fair and direct questions for the most part. Some of the questions can be quite vague. But even in the vagueness, there are still pretty good hints in the multiple choice answers or can be figured out from process of elimination. I very much appreciate evidence/lit supporting each answer. There ARE a couple of questions where evidence is incorrectly cited. EXAMPLE: Question 77 in lumbar section... Cutoffs for the FABQ and cutoff scores for good prognosis. The answer in the book is option D: FABQ PA subscale score of 29 or Less.... The max FABQ score is only 24 points. BOOOO. The explanation for the answer cites the Fritz 2002 article incorrectly and honestly, looks like word salad. I caught this because I know the scale very well compared to other topics.DOUBLE CHECK the answers you get wrong. This is the only one I caught. But now I'm second guessing.MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT is non-clinical and more to do with layout: 1 question per page. And the answer on the next page. MOST OF THE BOOK is laid out where the question is on the left hand page, and the answer is on the right. There is a TREMENDOUS amount of paper wasted. This book could easily be 1/4 of the size just for putting more than one question on a page and indexing the answers. This makes it a pain to transport if I'm going to study some place I can't drink wine (e.g. public library).I'll return to update my feedback on the content if I'm sober enough after I take the test.

useless waste of money
This product is a disgrace and I’m not sure how it’s even been rated as highly as it has. The questions and answers (which are many times on the adjacent page so very difficult not to catch a glimpse of) are not only full of typos and poorly worded, they are sometimes in direct conflict with current CPG recommendations, missing sources (some answers just say “link:” with nothing following, like the authors forgot) and I can attest to after taking the real OCS today, are nothing like the real questions. Furious I ordered it and waited to use it thinking it would be a great resource to quiz myself toward the end, or else I would be sending it back.

Good start
This book has great potential. I like the research and layout. I was a bit disappointed by duplicate questions. It is advertised as 200 + questions, I'm half way through it and have come across at least 4 of the same exact questions, answer options and all... It needs a bit more editing too... A few typos in questions that may throw off the whole questions. For example, one question asks "which intervention is inappropriate" all answers we appropriate and option D was all of the above, should have read "none of the above". All in All it was a useful resource to study for the OCS.

poor value
an effort to make minimal info into a book...wasted pages and poor lay out. Ridiculously large font to make book seem large. poor value and do not recommend

Good spine practice supplement
I passed the 2020 exam. I took every practice test I could find and this was a good supplement, it’s very spine focused.

Great for Studying!
This book is worth it for anyone studying for the OCS. The format makes the questions easy to follow and I like how the questions are divided into different spinal regions. The questions are presented in a way that I find promotes the critical thinking/reasoning skills required for the exam and cover a wide range of topics. The explanations after each question are written in a manner that makes understanding the correct answer easy to understand. Each question also consists of references and links to articles where you can find the answer. I have found this part of the book extremely useful in further understanding the material. I definitely recommend this book for anyone planning to take this exam!

Great study tool
I am currently studying for the OCS exam and have been using this book as a study tool. The questions are very well written with good cases. I really like the links to the articles that correspond to each question, and the written explanations for the answers are very helpful. They both make it very easy to understand the research and reasoning behind the question. I definitely recommend.

Highly recommend!
Affordable and helpful resource for OCS studying! Great variety of questions with detailed answers. I really liked the citations and resources provided so I can look further into topics I need to study more. Highly recommend this resource for the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.
