The battery contacts on the remote are very finicky and you have be sure the outside contacts don't get stuck under the battery. That was my issue and the seller suggested I check this. Once I fixed this I was able to complete the setup. I was also able to complete the setup to my Matter home automation system, so all good on that front as well. Additional follow up after having it for six months plus, these things are incredible. Works perfectly in HomeKit. Additionally shows battery level we have not connected the solar panel up that we purchased with it. Don't know that we need it now.
