why does it take so long to receive this item?

My sister gave me a sunnydaze "stainless steel" gazing ball for m y birthday, june 10 of this year. should the "finish" be coming off already?

The finish is holding up fine on my gazing ball. My ball was definitely made of stainless steel and there isn't anyway to have the finish fall off. The finish could become cloudy due to rain water or water splashing up from the ground. I would try using some polish first before trying any kind of return effort.

Why does it say not to expose it to the rain? If it's outside it will naturally get wet!

I think not exposing to rain is silly- it is designed for use outdoors. I can certainly see why they suggest not using in/near a pool, etc. because of chlorine, salt water pools, etc. would possibly damage the finish over time. I ordered this type because i got weary of replacing the glass globes that would weaken, crack , etc. far too soon. My gazing ball is on a pedestal outside and has been for a couple of years and i love it. Don't hesitate to purchase this- excellent buy for its durability and shine.
