My kitty liked it!
My elderly kitty (15 yrs old) gobbled this down the second I set it for her. The food looks like it is moist, not dried out/crunchy. It appears to be very fresh. The bag has a zip lock seal. There was no noticible odor or scent when I opened the bag. I have still ordered the expensive name brand version w a prescription from my vet. I would like compare the ingredients. It would be nice to have an alternative choice incase I run out of prescription food or if kitty will not eat the expensive prescription version. I am not a paid reviewer. I rarely write reviews. I think it is important for other kitty owners to have honest feedback on this product as you may be scrambling to find relief for your beloved kitty. My kitty has been diagnosed with stage 2 kidney failure. This is not intended to be a miracle cure or solution, but an effort to help her to be more comfortable & have a better quality of life until the inevitable occurs!

My cat actually likes it
My cat is 16 and has hyperthyroidism and ckd. She doesn’t eat any of the Rx wet foods so she’s still getting those in non Rx brands. Shes gone through a few dry formulas in Rx for kidney disease. She will eat it for a little while and then never touch it. I’ve had to change them a few times. I saw this and checked the nutrient levels and it’s right in line with the Rx ones and she actually likes it! I think she likes the size of the kernels since they’re bigger and even though she’s missing some teeth she can still chomp them. I tried their wet food too but unfortunately she hates pate. I wish they made a minced version for kidney care.

No enticing aroma. Doesn't prefer it.
My 15-year-old kitty has been on a renal prescription diet for three years. I finally found a prescription brand he likes, but it's expensive. Looking for alternatives, I discovered Forza10 renal formula without a prescription. He adores the wet food, but the dry food is meh. It lacks an enticing aroma, so he kinda just walks away.

CKD BSH Appoved
My very picky BSH with CKD eats this without too much disdain. He is not vomiting it up, either. Given his stage in CKD, this is an absolute win.

My 18 yr old cat actually really likes this food - I was shocked!
The media could not be loaded. This Forza10 Renal support food for active cats actually surprised me. Years and years ago, we tried the tinned wet version of the Forza10 renal food, and it was *not* a hit at all. So I was pleasantly surprised that my cat really liked this dry food. It's *not* a "prescription diet" because that comes from the vet. And if your cat has any issues with his kidneys, you need to get to the vet to find out what kind of kidney issues your cat is dealing with. Know the signs and symptoms. This food is designed to "support" renal insufficiency in cats. (They make dog food, too). This cat food is fish protein and cranberry, with limited ingredients, antioxidants, low phosphorus (cats with renal problems usually need low phosphorus), designed for cats that have chronic renal insufficiency. I would not go feeding this to your cat unless you *know* your cat has kidney issues because you don't want to be messing around with their phosphorus levels if their phosphorus levels are fine. So go to the vet, find out. Ask the vet about this food as an option for your cat. I like that this food also has some herbs and fruits in it to support detoxification because cats with kidney problems frequently have a lot of toxins in their blood. This bag is less than a pound ... 0.88 of a pound, which is 400 grams. So, it is currently a little on the pricey side for the size of the bag. But, it's cheaper than some other kidney diets, so talk to your vet and see if this is an option for early kidney insufficiency. I have an 18 year old cat and she has, she's actually in kidney failure now, but she hasn't been eating very well lately. So I tried this on her and shockingly enough, she ate it! More than once! In fact, she's eaten almost the whole bag. She likes fish, and this has fish protein, so it must taste enough like fish to please her. I like that it has quality ingredients and not a lot of filler fluff. It's kind of average sized kitty kibbles, little round pellets, so she liked that ... cats with kidney problems frequently have problems with their mouths, too. I was shocked she ate it! So I think she'll be getting this for a while, along with her other medications and stuff that she has to have. But, you know, it's hit or miss with cats. If you're looking for this type of food for your cat and you have a cat with kidney insufficiency, I'm sorry. Kidney disease is an arduous thing to go through with your cat (or your dog!). But give it a try. It's a little tiny bag. If your cat doesn't like it, you're not out a whole big giant bag. But this particular one my cat liked, so good luck. I'd recommend giving this a try. - Muddypaw

Cat liked it, didn't love it
Our cat recently started having kidney issues, and our vet suggested switching her to a renal support cat food. She liked Forza10, and certainly ate it, but didn't come running for it, or devour it. That said, she did eat it just fine, and it didn't give her any digestive issues. There is very little smell, which might be why she didn't find it super appealing. It seems well made, consistent, and solid with few small chunks or dusting in the bag. It's a little on the expensive side, but honestly what renal cat food isn't?

Good quality cat food
So I have a super picky cat that likes maybe 1 out of 10 types of cat food, and she was very enthusiastic about this one, even over her regular food that she really likes. I have another cat that's on a special renal diet, and he liked this as well. My picky cat seemed to be drinking a little more water than normal, so I thought I'd see how she did with a low phosphorus blend, and it went way better than I expected - particularly the fact that she actually really loved and preferred it. The quality of the food seems very good, it the ingredient list is great, the pieces are a perfect size, and the heart-shaped pieces are not only cute, but they also work to ensure that the active ingredients don't lose their effectiveness when exposed to heat and processing. They also contain additional nutrients that are beneficial for detox and kidney health, kind of like little vitamins. It is a little pricey, but considering how much my picky baby liked it and seemed to do well with it, I will most likely be ordering again.
