Q: I am a size 7.5-8. Which size should I choose? 7 or 8? I would wear them barefoot.

If you are going to use socks at anytime, then go with an 8. If your feet are wide or have a tendency to swell...go with an 8. My feet are wide, swell on occasion and I wear socks from time to time...I wear an 8 and got a 9. A tad big, but no problems at all. Hope this helps.

Q: Do these shoes come with a bad chemical smell?

No chemical smell. They run a little large, but my right shoe has stretched approx. 1/2 inch larger than left, and now difficult to walk in without stepping out of the shoe.

I'd say that the women's width is somewhere between "normal" and "wide." I have wide feet, and would prefer that the shoes came in a true "wide." But since they are a bit flexible and have some "give," (although the sides are a little snug) they're still comfortable for the garden. If they came in a true wide, I'd order more to wear all day! Great arch support!

I ordered and wear a women's size 8. There is a sticker in the shoe with an 8 on it. The bottom of the shoe is stamped UK 6 and EUR 38. The shoes fit me fine.
