It is pretty sturdy yes. The legs are made of plastic which put me off at first, but given you will be putting a duvet or something similar over the top, between the frame and the table top, its not really a massive issue. I wouldn't go standing on it though

Q: Can I use this in the uk?

This kotatsu is designed for Japanese domestic voltage system (110v). You'll need a 200v-110v step down transformer. I use a Sanyo TSD-N11LE, still going strong after 20 years!

Q: dose this come with the fabric sheet as well or do I have t purchase this separately ?

The table comes without the futon.
