Lovely flavours

I picked up the Vertuo Intenso capsules because I wanted a darker, more assertive coffee that still works in a full mug format rather than feeling stretched and hollow. In daily use, the capsules are consistent: the machine reads the barcode reliably and produces a thick crema with a noticeably heavier body than the lighter Vertuo blends. Aromatically, it leans towards roasted cereal and dark cocoa rather than sharp acidity, which makes it easy to drink black. The mouthfeel is smooth, with enough bitterness to signal a dark roast without tipping into harshness. Over time, however, the limitations become clearer. The intensity is driven more by roast depth than by complexity, so repeated cups can start to feel one-dimensional. I also find the price difficult to justify for what is essentially a dependable but straightforward flavour profile. It performs exactly as designed and suits those who want a bold, no-nonsense coffee, but it does not offer much nuance beyond that.
