it perfect
I bought this for my husband, a tea fanatic, after seeing something similar on vacation in Spain. That one was plastic and nylon. I got online to find something more durable and this one fits the bill. It's very well made. The top keeps the tea off the table and counter tops. The bottom catches the drips. It also cleans up easily in the dishwasher. I'm going to get him another one for work.

Great infuser
This stainless infuser allows you to make any kind of tea from the leaf.It is made of thin metal, and it is very light, fits perfect to any kind of cup. It is easy to see how much tea leaf is in (I have a black infuser, and it is hard to see since the tea leaf's color is blended into the background). It is also easy to clean since the mesh is small enough to avoid the leaf stuck. This is a great product, but I found a couple of turn-offs.First, the sticker attached to the bottom of the item when I received made me trouble to peel. I wasted 30 minutes just to peel the useless sticker. I recommend using hair dryer to warm up to peel the sticker. If you still fail to peel it clean, use scotch tape to catch all the paper sticker.Second, it is thin enough to make a dent easy. Try not to put stress around the wall of the infuser when you handle it.Overall, 4 stars out of 5 is fair.

Best stand-alone loose leaf infusion device!
As a dedicated loose leaf tea drinker, I love the Bodum YoYo infuser! When I'm not using my Hario glass pot, which is fitted with a screen-type basket, the YoYo is definitely my go-to infuser. I use it for my greens (primarily Sencha), black teas and herbal tisanes and I *love* its flexibility - it can be used right in the mug for a single cup or with a pot, wide-mouth bottle or jar to make a larger batch of hot or cold tea. I use it with with all leaf sizes and cuts. As some reviewers point out, there will be *some* filter through of finer particles, but I find that to be true of almost any metal infuser unless your are using the fine mesh type (which usually has plastic parts) or the rounded screened "basket" types, which aren't as durable and don't fit into mugs and jars the way this one does. Quite frankly, a few particles filtering into my tea just doesn't bother me. And, as another review points out, you can always place the filled YoYo into the hot water (rather than pouring the water into it, which forces fine particles through). The YoYo is super easy to clean as well - I usually use a spoon handle to loosen the wet leaf, tap them out into the trash, and then rinse. I love there there is no loose rim for small particles to get lodged under (a minor problem with those screen basket filters that fit into tea pots). As for durability, I have no complaints - my first YoYo has withstood 2 years of heavy use and it's still going strong. It has acquired a 'tea stained' patina from the black teas, which doesn't bother me in the least - it's actually considered a desirable quality in some brewing vessels. I recently purchased my second YoYo, which has the "swoopier" design. While I prefer the triangular design of my first YoYo, the second one performs just as well. I hope Bodum always makes this fantastic stainless steel infuser!Pros:-100% stainless steel, for those who avoid plastic-Brew 1 cup or an entire pot/pitcher-Cylindrical shape fits into mugs and narrower brewing vessels-Easy to clean-DurableCons:-Some fine particles do escape; use gently to minimize OR reserve the YoYo for larger cut leaf

Nice design, indifferently executed
I nearly didn't recogize this when it came out the shipping box.First, it is really small. That's ok, teacup size is well, appropriate. But the fit and finish was disappointing. It is stainless steel but probably not 18/10. The seam where the mesh was welded was rough and sloppy looking. Not a good value for $15 dollars and certainly not the $24 list. Not what I expected from Bodum.

Didn't work for me.
I drink a variety or organic, green, herbal, and black teas, and in every case, too much sediment and fine, broken particles of tea leaves got through. The only way I could get this to work was to line it with a coffee filter which, of course, makes the thing redundant. In past experience, mesh is the only thing that truly works, but I couldn't find one at the time that was large enough, and also didn't also have plastic components.Straining tea through my teeth is not an option. Very high cost for something that doesn't perform brilliantly.

Cheap from beginning to the end
This infuser is cheaply made. It is that simple. When I received the product, it was clear to me that this thing was a flawed product. First, this infuser was shipped to me without proper casing and indeed I noticed some bumps which weren't too bad however they were certainly noticeable in close inspection.Second, if you look closely at how they melded this stainless steel infuser, you will see why I say this was cheaply made. It was just amateurishly done even I can do better.Third, they put some kind of stick at the bottom of the infuser and frankly, I spent 20 minutes trying to get it off completely. And of course I ended up with very scratched infuser bottom. I don't know what kind of glue it was but it stuck to infuser bottom and simply refused to scrape off.I would recommend future buyers to stay away from this product. I know I will never buy product from Bodum in the future for sure.

Parfait

A better cup of tea
I'm very satisfied with this tea strainer. Like other reviewers, I appreciate the roominess and the fact that it fits in virtually any mug. I don't have a teapot but if I did I bet it would fit in there too.I have tried many types of tea with this strainer. Some of the very fine-cut teas do leave a tiny bit of residue in the cup, but this doesn't bother me at all. The holes really are quite small, so I find that only the powdery-fine bits filter through them.I would have given this 5 stars if the drainage from the bottom of the infuser were better. You can see in the photo that the bottom is more solid steel. There are a few tiny holes in it, but not enough. This means a fair bit of water is left in there, mixed with the tea leaves, so it takes longer for the tea to dry out. I find the infuser easiest to clean when the leaves are completely dry. This is a very minor complaint.
