Very useful tool
I feel like the people who have written complaints in their reviews perhaps did not read the instructions with this product. The first week of wearing the activity monitor is the assessment phase, when information is being gathered about your normal activity level. So, you can log into your account and read some information, but you will not receive any feedback about your progress. However, my assessment phase ended today, and I was able to log in and see a breakdown of my activity progress for every day during the assessment. I am a dental hygienist, so other than the time I am sitting down with my patients for their prophies, I am moving around quite a lot during the day. I take their radiographs, set up and clean up my room, and I have to walk to the dentist's room to ask for an exam. I was unaware of how much I actually move around during the day, but I earned 9 PointsPlus one day at work! I could definitely see the difference between this day and this weekend, where I only earned 1 PointsPlus for a Saturday. I can definitely see the purpose of this monitor...you cannot make up for a week's worth of inactivity with 30 minutes-1 hour of intense exercise a few days a week. It takes a complete lifestyle change to achieve and maintain weight loss, which involves increasing every day activity. My goal from here is to continue to increase my daily activity, parking farther away from my destination and choosing to move around more during my chores at home. I think this is the best purchase I have made in a long time.

WORTHLESS
Too bad this thing is waterproof, or I would flush it down the toilet.I am a committed Weight Watcher and very active. This device, while it means well, has major design flaws and is not yet ready for the public.1. Setting up and the first 8 days: Pretty intuitive and easy. The first 8 days is checking your baseline. HA don't do what I did, increase your activity during that time, trying to impress the thing. NOW it just wants me to do MORE! Problem? It does not count your APs during this time, if you are a strict eTools tracker.2. Wearing it for 4 days now:The WORST flaw? You are married to the device. You cannot manually add APs on eTools.Nordic walking x 1 hour: I used to earn 9 APs and it registered 5. To be perfectly honest, I thought that 5 was a bit more accurate for the work that I put in.HARD pool running (chest high and deep) x 90 minutes. I used to earn 14 AP (admittedly, a bit of an overestimation). It gave me ONE. No matter how much I tried to adjust it (high intensity, changed to land running) it still only gave ONE. 30 minutes on the phone with Tech support was totally unhelpful.Strength training x 1 hour, 3 vigorous circuits with 5 minutes of cardio in between each set. Heart rate stayed at about 70%. It gave me ZERO APs. When I am gritting my teeth doing a plank, it thinks I am taking a nap!SPINNING: Accurate. 8 AP for a hard hour.I think for a WALKER or RUNNER, or someone who just is trying to be more active with Activities of Daily Living, this might be helpful. But for a cross trainer, it goes back in the box and back to the store.

I was on WW so I thought it would be great to be all in one
There are so many other activity trackers out there with more functionality. I was on WW so I thought it would be great to be all in one, but never really like this.

I liked it, but lost it within a week
I liked the monitor and that I was able to connect it with my Weightwatcher program, but the clip was not strong enough and I lost it about a week after the assessment was over. Too bad, because I can't afford to buy another.

Weight Watchers Acitive Link Activity Monitor
I ordered the ActiveLink Activity Monitor to help me get through a weight loss plateau. It is easy to use and does help to motivate me to get up and moving. I no longer have to estimate Activity PointsPlus values. The ActiveLink does the work for you and sends the results to eTools. I highly recommend the Active Link to Weight Watchers who are struggling to lose weight.

It is what it is
I have been using this product for about 8 weeks. The assessment phase is a dark time as you wonder if it's even working. After that the feedback starts via the activelink lights itself and syncing with a computer (not an ipad yet).It is an accelerometer so recognize if for what it is. I was manually giving myself significantly more AP relative to what this device gives me.The issue is two fold in my opinion, I'm doing kickboxing, spinning, circuit interval, strength training, running, etc and as an accelerometer it's not likely to catch all that. The flip side is I sit at a desk job. The activelink makes you meet a baseline of activity before you are awarded ANY AP'sMy WW Leader hasn't had to tell me to adjust as I'm losing weight too quickly as a result of my overcounting my AP's prior to switching to this device! It is information, one component of working to achieve a healthy lifestyle. I found the device worth the money + $60/year subscription. Other devices, which may be more 'accurate' are significantly more expensive and not within my budget at this juncture! I have used a HRM for years and was ready to try something different to change it up.

What a bust!
I read with interest in the Weight Watchers weekly reader about Activelink. Wow, I thought, this product is pretty cool. I can finally see if I am recording the accurate Activity Points for Pilates, Zumba and Body Pump classes. Wrong! Activelink measures ALL of your activity in a given day - from walking around the house and getting the kids out to school, to drying my hair (yes, drying my hair) to walking for 50 minutes. In total last week, Activelink credited me with 40 Activity Points. In a normal week, my planned activity of several classes at the YMCA and one or two walks would get me about 20 Activity Points. For me, a person who was/is active already, this product is useless. It overestimates my Activity Points. And when you subscribe to Activelink, you lose the ability to track activities on your Tracker manually. Oh, and did I mention if REQUIRES A MOTNHLY SUBSCRIPTION? Yep, $5 a month - and that was NO WHERE in the Weight Watchers literature.Bottom line: thumbs down for Activelink.
