Q: How do I get the tea basket to stay at the top? Mine immediately sinks to the bottom. It never lowers from above and it never rises out of the water.?

Thanks for asking, I'm afraid the Magnetic Post was out of order accidentally. Here are the steps to fix: 1. Please unplug the teapot and then plug it back in. You will hear a beep. 2. Then press and hold the "Hot Water", "Tea Types" and "Strength/Keep Warm" buttons simultaneously, and release them after hearing the beep. Please see attached picture. 3. Finally, you can select the tea brewing program according to the normal process and test whether the tea basket will automatically rise and fall. Q: How can I get it to reach 212 degrees? My kettle boils and boils and doesn't go over 200 degrees so it can't progress to make black tea.

If your location IS high altitude, I'm afraid that would need to manual adjust the the temperature 200 degrees for boiling or making black tea.
