Bought to remove a 25 year old privet hedge, works really well, glad I bought xl, it seems a normal length for a tool and to get the leverage on for removal of the stumps. I have put full body weight on 13st and not managed to break it.

My husband actually used this root slayer, to great effect. He says it’s great, really does the job. It’s got a good weight to it and makes for good leverage.

Purchased this expecting something that could slice through softened up roots/rhyzomes. It could not cut or penetrate enough. If you are buying this in order to dig up roots I would recommend getting a good mattock instead. Have been told I am unable to return a used product even though it has not done the job it was bought for. If you are on the fence about buying this then that would be enough to look elsewhere

I am a fence contractor. i knew i had a job coming up with bamboo on the fence line so i went looking for a tool to help out. very happy with the performance . cut through the bamboo in a few swings and sliced through all other roots a came across. hopefully the handle lasts a long time but so far i love this shovel.
