Spice World Minced Garlic, 4.5 Oz

Like another reviewer stated, this garlic is not strong, so I find I have to use a LOT to get decent flavor. However, it's so convenient, and I also hate dealing with fresh garlic- the tediousness of peeling, cutting, mincing...and the mess! All the stickiness on your hands, and the papers...ugh! I use this when I don't want the hassle, or I've run out of fresh, or when the fresh flavor is not that important to me. So nice to have on hand. I make a batch of chicken adobe for my son once a week to last him a few days as a snack or meal, as it's one of his favorites. It's so easy with this: 2 lbs chicken thighs, 1/3 cup Tamari soy sauce, 1/3 cup molasses, 1/3 cup Filipino or Apple cider vinegar, 1 tsp peppercorns, 4 bay leaves, 1 jar of garlic. (Though not traditional, I add a bit of red or cayenne pepper.) Combine ingredients for sauce and pour over chicken to marinate, preferably overnight. (I pop this in my smart pot pressure-cooker and walk away, but it could be done on the stove-top.) Serve over rice with sauce from cooking. Enjoy!

After a lot of years, I finally decided that I am not interested in being a purist in the kitchen and I really don’t need to fool with fresh garlic. With a jar of minced garlic in the fridge, I’m far more likely to add aromatics to whatever I’m cooking. Which means that after I stopped being a purist, my cooking got better. Who knew?

I bought this and it was the right size. Not too big and not too much. It had a really good flavor in my dish. I poured the rest of it that I didn’t use in a freezer bag and put it in the freezer for another time. It was minced just right! There were no big chunky pieces. Everything was evenly cut. Highly recommend!

Ya gotta go easy on the amount you plan on using otherwise you will end up murdering your dish as well as your taste buds. The smell is also very strong once you open up the jar, bought this brand of garlic for my husband he is always complaining I never use enough garlic, well with that being said since the first day he spooned up a tablespoon of this minced garlic into his bowl of beans I have never heard another complaint from him...the only thing I heard was a big YOWIE. ha ha ha. He now won't touch the stuff, as for me I use vert little on some toast and it was all right I supposed tho I wasn't crazy about it. I really prefer fresh garlic and can care less for any brand of bottled up garlic.

This minced garlic makes it so much easier than mincing it yourself. It saves a lot of time and tastes great!
