I wanted this because I like the SMEG design and thought it would be a fun way to make sparkling water at home without buying cans and bottles all the time. The matte black finish looks great on the counter, and the machine itself feels simple and polished. The main thing to know is that it does not come ready to use out of the box—you need to purchase a compatible CO₂ cylinder separately. I was a little disappointed that I could not start using it immediately. Once you have the CO₂, though, setup is straightforward and the included bottle is convenient. Nice machine, but plan ahead and have a CO₂ cylinder ready.
