BlackRapid RS-Sport Extreme Sport Camo Sling Camera Strap

I absolutely LOVE this thing. It has eliminated my neck pain from carrying my camera. It's immensely convenient and allows very nice hands free walking when needed. I took this to SE Asia and for over two weeks it was slung around my shoulder as I hiked the cities and country side. It never got uncomfortable to the point of needing to take it off. I could sling the camera to the front, side, or back as needed with zero hassle. I love it so much I never took it off my camera, there is no need for any other harness, I use this full time, even doing portrait work.Pros:ComfyEasily adjustableIncreases maneuverabilityAllows hassle free hands off walking/hikingConThe attachment point CAN come looseTo mitigate that con I added the tether that is sold separate and links the attachment point (tripod mount screw) to the body of the camera via the wrist strap anchor. I use a tripod occasionally, otherwise I had considered using lock-tight to keep the mounting screw in a little better. It only came loose a little bit once, but enough that it could certainly work itself out at some point if you don't check it often. Easy fix for peace of mind. I didn't deduct a star because it's an easy work around with the addition of the tether and/or the addition of the procedural check that the screw is tight.

Got this for my 5DMK3. Works well, nothing to complain about.For added security, I suggest getting the BlackRapid Tether Kit. That kit attaches from the original camera strap point on the side to the Black Rapid RS-Sport hook. So, if for any reason the screw on the bottom gives out, you will still be attached via the original camera strap point.Lastly, if you want to use this strap along with your tripod, and you don't own a Manfrotto (BlackRapid has a solution for Manfrotto's), then I suggest getting the Cotton Carrier Universal Adapter Plate. This plate attaches to your tripod mounting hole. The plate itself has 3 more mounting holes. So, on one of the holes, you attach your RS-Sport. On any of the other two, you attach your tripod quick release plate. With this, you can now use your tripod without having to unscrew the RS-Sport.

I've been using this wondrous little piece of equipment for years on my 6D now and can't live without it. It's built solid and distributes the camera/lens weight evenly over my shoulder making it very comfortable. On venues where I'm shooting all day, I honestly couldn't tell ya what I'd do without this guy. This strap is built to last for ages, so I doubt I'll need to replace it within the decade. I am confident with it holding even my most expensive gear. The extra little strap dealy which goes across the chest is especially good if you plan to be moving a lot, or shooting all day, but it's not required. Just don't take it off and lose it like I did...bummer. Excellent strap!!Edit: literally a decade later and I'm still using this same strap and still love it.

I have been using this Black Rapid for just over a year. I have mostly enjoyed using it but it seem like the component quality is just not very good. The main sling strap has started to fray on the edges and the shoulder strap clip recently broke when I depressed the release tabs. It is not exactly confidence inspiring .Overall I cannot recommend this product based upon the poor durability. I actually was looking at a cheaper version and chose the Black Rapid instead. It looks like the cheaper version may have been the better choice based on the extremely short life of this product.

This is a great strap-Took it to Florida for Spring Training and it worked like a gem until I got to the Parking lotand the camera seperated from the screw in mount! Needless to say I was very alarmed when my camera hit the ground-luck it was droped from a short distance.Granted it was my fault for not tightening the screw each time I touch the camera-but I give a 3 stars because there should be a warning that the screw is not secured to the camera and to check it regularly!If you buy this great strap be sure to check the connection to the camera each time you use it and periodically during the shoot!

This camera sling/strap is very well made and comfortable to wear. The clip is very secure and uses a locking screw mechanism to secure the camera once it is snapped on the eye. The eye screws into the tripod mount on the bottom of the camera. The strap includes two adjustable "stops" which keep the camera from swinging about loosely. Looks great and very easy to adjust for height......highly recommended product.

This thing is comfortable, very easy to use and get sized up to fit your body size... I'm a big guy, and it's adjustable enough to fit comfortably and have the camera in a good position on my hip. The bump stops on the strap to hold the camera in place are a nice touch and easy enough to use. The metal clip looks like it's a solid design and the screw into the bottom of the camera doesn't feel like it'll ever come out. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the price. It was $75 on sale... and more expensive because I bought the camo pattern because I'm a silly redneck like that. But the normal ones are $60+ and I think that is nuts for what they are. Great strap, good quality...but a steep price.I'll probably buy the longer screw that they sell eventually so I can still have my tripod mount attached to the camera that will allow me to switch between the strap and tripod more easily.. but that thing costs $18 by itself, for a screw.

This is a great strap! I love it! Very comfortable to wear, distributes weight well, and the under arm strap adds support. Very quick strap that securely holds your camera, with no annoying clips or excess straps in the way when you want to grab your camera and shoot. The adjustable strap clip keeps your camera down by your side when you're not using it, and keeps your camera from swinging around behind you. Definitely worth the money.
