Safer than a razor.
It's a good solid shaver but you need to go over and over the area that needs hair removed. The plus is that you cannot cut yourself like you do when using a razor.

They are getting better, but not there yet!
Too many maintenance issues. Does not get close to a smooth shave. It does not pull or irritate.

More than I expected
I was concerned that Braun might not meet the standard of my old Panasonic, but how wrong I was. This little machine is Stupendous! Smoothand more quiet in sound level, with a beautiful close shave. Simply wonderful around the neck, and trims neatly around my goatee and stash. The wider trimmer is far better that the Pan. as well. Both Panasonic and Braun are close like a blade, but the Braun sneaks in just ahead ofPanasonic when all is said and done. I Love this thing, and to think I was afraid to buy American for this tech, it makes me feel stupid. As for the cleaning station, the on/off button seemed to be broken, but was just mounted deeper than I think it should have, so now it worksvery, very well. The initial rinse out works smoothly and the razor is spotless and hygiene for every use. I like the added Hygiene tracking builtinto the handle. Very smart idea. So go get one of the Wonders of the shaving world, I think you will like it too.

Bought Series 7 TWICE, and the Trimmer broke BOTH times!
I bought my first Braun Series 7 in 2015. I really liked it until the trimmer broke on me after only two years!I bought my second Braun Series 7 in 2017. And guess what? The trimmer broke on me after two years AGAIN!This Razor costs too much money for the trimmer to be so cheap and easy to break. The Main Trimmer has been great, I've used it on my face and head with no problem, but I'm very disappointed about the trimmer to the point that I might even switch to a different brand.

Close shave without creams. Closer with a preshave.
I have been using this now for 7 months. I only use the cleaner every other week, to get a good cleaning and lubricate the cutting head. Every few days I rinse it out with warm water. The shaver does give a close shave without water or gel. But, if I want a really good shave I do use a preshave. I found out that if you leave your cleaning solution in the cleaner it will evaporate away. What I do is after I clean my shaver I remove the cleaning cartridge and put the plastic "cap" back on it. One cartridge has lasted over five months now - the first evaporated away in less then two months.I have taken this on a month long cruise and only charged it a couple times. My last Braun was over 10 years old and still worked OK, just wanted a new shaver. I have high hopes this will do the same.

That's what I like.
As a nomadic shepherd, a quick and complete shave is what I craved for the past 6 years. Hanging around sheep all day leads to the mostly unknown condition of "wool-face". However, this shaver was not purchased for my face but, rather, my sheep. Once they had undergone their first shearing, the flock issued several verbal and written complaints that their hides were getting itchy. I tried Panasonic electric shavers but sheep are adamantly Western and didn't agree with my selection.Thankfully I came across the Braun - which actually does shave as close as a blade. The wet/dry options are a blessing from heaven. And I'm sure this is the same shaver angels use in heaven. I've only had the shaver for 1 month so I have no long term reports to give. However, l'm afraid the sheep will protest if the Braun's efficacy ever decreases. But until then, I am proud to declare that a close shave has been achieved and I also bought some new khakis and a a bbq grill. But, I won't be cooking lamb.

Didn't live up to the reviews.
I’ve used it for two years, and I think I’ve tried every possible adjustment and method. This shaver is no better than a $20 shaver, although it is certainly designed to make you feel wealthy and tasteful. Does everything it claims it won’t: irritates the skin, doesn’t cut flat-lying stubble. Next time I won’t listen to marketing speak, or the reviews of folks who haven’t yet realized that their shave hasn’t gotten better, but FEELS better, which are not the same thing.

Works great, but expensive
Works great! Great close shave! It's expensive, no doubt about it, and not too cheap to maintain, either, if you buy the CCR cleaning/lubricating kits. Still, given the way it performs, it's worth the price. If you like the closeness of blade shaving, but like the convenience of electric shaving, this is the product for you. My beard is not particularly heavy, so depending upon how heavy a beard your have, YMMV. While it says that it's a Wet/Dry shaver, the instructions say that for best results, you should start with a dry beard. I've had to change my morning routine a bit, since with other Wet/Drys, I have shaved while showering - cost and slight change of routine are not enough to knock it down to a 4 star rating. Hope this helps.
