It's like Game of Thrones, only with bags!
That's pretty crazy, but I love bags and have so many, that it sometimes feels like "the great game" is playing out before my eyes. I travel a fair amount, and really like to travel light. One of the things I like, however, is to have a laptop bag that has everything in it. This way, if I am traveling across the country, or even just across town, I will have everything I need with respect to the computer and my phone.I kid you not, I have used over a dozen different laptop bags over the years. Many have been excellent, and my most recent bag was a true favorite: the Ristretto by Tom Bihn. I cannot say enough good things about that bag, but one thing that was difficult was that it did not have a whole lot of pockets inside to organize the increasing amount of kit that I am carrying. Specifically, I carry the laptop itself, several different "dongles" (it's a new MacBook and only has one USB-C port, so I need dongles for giving talks like VGA and HDMI and dongles for plugging things in), the power supply and cords (I use the awesome USB Type-C, Anker Premium 5-Port 60W USB Wall Charger PowerPort+ 5 USB-C with Power Delivery for Apple MacBook, Nexus 5X / 6P and PowerIQ for iPhone, iPad, Samsung & More that can charge EVERYTHING from my Apple Watch to my computer with one brick!), some USB drives, a back up battery (also from Anker and also fantastic--but very big and heavy--Anker PowerCore+ 26800 Premium Portable Charger High Capacity External Battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 and PowerPort+ 1 with Quick Charge 3.0 Wall Charger that can recharge everything including my laptop which is insanely awesome), some headphones, some business cards, some microfiber cloths, and some pens. It's not insane, at least I don't think it is, but it's a fair amount of stuff and it adds up, and I feel so much better if things are well-organized.So I was reading an issue of Cool Tools, a wonderful newsletter from Kevin Kelly, and someone was raving about this bag. Because I've gotten so many great ideas from that newsletter, I decided to think about it for a few days, read other reviews, and before long, I knew that I had to jump in.In short, this is a very clever system that can probably serve a lot of different needs. While there is tremendous flexibility in designing and reconfiguring bags, I am only using it as the B2 Computer bag set up, and that's what I'm reviewing here.It is a little bit tricky to put it together at first: you have to figure out how the zippers align and they are not the easiest to zip together. Once you get the hang of it, it's not very bad, and everything does feel very solid and durable. It's fairly compact, But it does have plenty of room. The laptop pocket is well padded, which is another complaint of some of the different bags I've had: sometimes it feels like if you set the bag down hard it could damage the laptop. That is not the case with this bag!Positives:-Looks good, if a little plain-Excellent padding-Fantastic number and layout of pockets for superior organization-Stands up vertically securely: this is a strange point, but many bags like this do not stand up on their own, but flop over. In fact, it's rare to have a bag this small that will stand up so stably, and I just love that aspect. If you're in an airport and just want to set it down for a second to reach into your pocket, it's so nice that you can just reach back down and the handle is there, rather than having to crouch all the way down and pick it up from the floor where has flopped over. In fact, my last bag frequently tipped over and that is how I lost my car keys: they spilled out when it tipped over and I didn't realize it! It was in fact this particular issue, along with the need for better organization that made me get this bag.-Has handle and strap (and both simultaneously) optionsNegatives-It's fairly plain looking-It only comes in black-it's actually fairly heavy: I think this is the price we pay for all the zippers and different compartments-The included shoulder strap is fairly crummy, I immediately replaced with a better one-The zippers seem to be pretty good quality, but I'm pretty sure they're not YKK-The included handle that is required to be used in the B2 configuration is clunky and heavy (they actually include a smaller, lighter, and more elegant and ergonomic handle with the kit! However, it can only be used when you're using it in the B0 configuration, something that I do not intended to do.)In sum, this is a pretty awesome bag. I think I will use it for quite sometime. We will see what I like and do not like as I put some miles on it. It has displaced all my other bags, however, which is saying something!

Best bag design for travel/go bag
Own two of these bags with a few different modules. They are durable, practical, and fit nicely under the airplane seat storage. The heavy duty handle fits right over the roller bag handle for easy transport. Purchased the backpack module and get great use for shorter trips/places where rolling a bag is less optimal. Also purchased the insert storage for a go bag and that has proven useful. While pricey, they will last for a long time and the flexibility of use reduced the number of bags needed.

The Brightline bag is perfectly designed as a modular unit. I bought the slim and I find it suffices my daily requirement to carry all my documents and stationary for everyday use. Very well organised and thought out bag.

Best bag for business traveller.
The Brightline line of bags is awesome, super versatile and useful to anyone that travels a lot for business. It is a modular system that allows you to switch up to a different size or add/remove pockets quickly and easily. For an overnight business trip I need only one bag for both my clothes and my computer but I don't have to worry about bringing my dirty clothes into a meeting I just unzip that section of the bag and bring only the computer section. For a two day trip I switch to a larger clothing section. For a day trip I leave the extra sections behind and just bring the computer section. It's several bags in one.High quality bags at a decent price.PROS:High QualityModular VersatilityEasy to assembleLots of optionsGood price

Buy the backpack strap rear cap first.
Use this all day everyday for go to, commuting, occasional airline flights. This Favorite bag organizes everything without confusing where and what. Really cool.

Awful handles on an interesting bag
I love the concept of this bag but I can not recommend it at this price due to the dreadful carrying options. The sturdy detachable handle stinks to high heck of toxic Chinese plastic chemicals that I could NOT get to dissipate. It left my hands stinking of toxic plastic and even my COWORKERS commented on the smell. I washed it with vinegar, left it on the deck for two weeks and every other DIY remedy I could find. All to no avail. The shoulder strap is also abysmal. Almost no padding and digs into my neck or slides off. I ended up swapping it out with another laptop bag strap which upsets me at this VERY high price-point for this bag. I love the concept and purchased this bag after seeing someone else in the airport with one but no matter how cool or sturdy it is I can not recommend a bag that is horrid to actually carry.

Not So "Bright"
Wow,Buy this thing and it comes unassembled. Let me get this right, I purchase a Brightline B-2 and you ship it to me unzipped in three small pieces, correct?Got the first flap on with little to no problem but to attach the two larger halves would take a flipping seamstress. They sent me what should be a pre-assembled small bag and viola', I get it in three pieces. News flash for you not so "Bright"-line people. Send the bags assembled next time. Yes they are supposedly modular and yes they can supposedly be mixed and matched but guess what, all I want is a bag that comes out of the box and works.Already on its way back for a return.

... review and to back him/her up this is the perfect fit and seems to built extremely well
I'm an American Airlines pilot as well andI appreciated my coworkers review and to back him/her up this is the perfect fit and seems to built extremely well. I was concerned about the Airbus QRH fitting; however, everything founds its way in some zipper. The bag fits perfectly over my handle of my travel pro luggage.
