An Old-Fashioned Christmas Romance Collection: 9 Stories Celebrate Christmas Traditions and Love from Bygone Years Paperback – September 1, 2014

I purchased this book after reading a similar collection of short Christmas stories. My holiday season is so hectic, it is nice to have a small respite to read and relax.

This collection of short stories was really refreshing. Each in a different setting, each unique, I was instantly drawn in to each one. The refreshing part is two fold. First, the Christian theme is not overwhelmed by a sense of obviousness. The plots and development are deep enough to carry the stories and the underlying faith weaves its way in as would a well developed character. Second, the endings, though satisfying, do not have a hard ending. They allow the reader to picture the rest of the story. These are not cliff hangers or prequels, of firsts in a series, but they don't end in sweaty love scenes, but rather new beginnings and are inspiring.

I love how Christmas is a time of love, hope, and often second chances. It brings out the best in most of us. That is the essence of these wonderful stories by some very talented authors. A wonderful way to spend a December evening. Don't forget the hot chocolate and roaring fire as you enjoy these Christmas morsels.

Some of the stories were good - others not. Some of the plots were unrealistic.

This is an awesome book! Loree Lough is my favorite Author but this novella was wonderful. I would highly recommend it. It's full of past traditional Christmas warmhearted family adventures and beautiful love stories!

I loved this book! It took you back to the days when true love was discovered or "uncovered" as in some cases. I would recommend it for everyone!
