Just what a needed, but could be a little more explanatory on the grammar side.

The organization of work between the all-German "textbook" and the bilingual "workbook" is slightly confusing at first, but effective once you get the hang of it. I like that there's a lot of use of German from the get-go. Well thought out for self-study. As with most language learning books, I could use more practice/repetition of each idea.

The books basically require you to use the CDs in order to understand what's going on. But its 2022... Most computers don't even come with CD players anymore and mine sure doesn't. Most language textbooks include CDs as extra listening practice only so I just assumed that would be the case but I wish I knew that the format basically made the CD listening mandatory in order to answer any questions and activities. You can get by in the workbook kind of without the CD but the textbook is basically just questions about what's in the CDs so its worthless unless you have a CD player.IF YOU DON'T HAVE A CD PLAYER, DON'T BUY
