Bought this for a turkey and it worked awesome!! Pierces very well and the eye hole is large and very easy to thread the twine through it.

I was surprised at how durable and nice this meat trussing needle is. The needle itself is long and thick. It came exactly as described and has held up remarkably. We've used it several times and so far there is no stress or bend in the needle. It glides in and out of meat easily (even the thickest of meat) and does exactly what it's supposed to do. The butchers twine is of great quality and we haven't had issues of it un-threading or breaking while using.

I used this to see up a pig’s belly to cook it on the spit. The needle worked great and saved us so much time. I didn’t have this previously and it was so difficult to see the pig and it took about an hour to dress the whole pig. With this needle and twine it only took 5 minutes to dress the whole pig!!! I bought more to give to friends who cook on spits. Absolutely recommend and piggy approved🐖

The needle and twine looks fine, but I needed the needle to sew a deboned chicken. On looking at the needle received I think it is too large and will damage the chicken so I will not use. I will however use the twine. I gave a 4 star because I think it might be fit to use on a less delicate item like probably a turkey or other meats.

After trying several elastic type strings for trussing birds, and having little success, I wondered if there was a poultry sewing kit. How hard could it be? I just used it for the first time, and the answer is - It's not hard at all. Much quicker and easier than the grocery store elastic do dads that typically burn through and are useless by the end of the cooking. So glad I tried this. Very inexpensive an so worthwhile.

The needle is plenty long and strong enough to make trussing a chicken easy. They give you plenty of string too. Glad I purchased this item.
