Great textbook, a few caveats
I'm a university professor so I'm reviewing this from the P.O.V. of a teacher. If you want to learn about Renaissance art casually, I'm not sure this is the book for you: I'd recommend things like Brunelleschi's Dome and Ross King's other books. Laurie Schneider Adams writes simple and accessible textbooks. I've used her brick of a book "Art Across Time" for one art history survey class. In my opinion, that book is too watered-down to the point that some sections are really useful only for the pictures. (That's why I've only used it for a single class.) This book is stronger. LSA is a Renaissance specialist so she has more to say here that is interesting and substantive. The prose is clear, the book is well-illustrated, and for an undergraduate intro class I think this book works really well. It is a particularly good back-up to lecture. That said, I think of this book as a baseline for a good class on Renaissance art. I recommend assigning a pretty wide variety of supplementary readings in order to provide a fuller picture, much more so than I would in a survey class (aka "Caves to Cathedrals" or whatever). So: good starting point here (good enough for five stars), but not enough for a university class.

Excellent viewpoints with insightful looks into the Renaissance period of arts, including paintings ,sculptures and historically accurate thoughts. As this is a large area, do not expect in depth reviews of works. Also a flaw that i struggled with is that this book centers around the masters of the period and does not take the time to explore the lesser known artists of the period. Overall it is a nice glance into the period.

Easy to read.
Interesting and engaging in the was it was written. I found myself really interested instead of struggling to pay attention. Pages were fairly good condition, with some occasional highlighting but I don’t mind that. I recommend this for interest reading as well as a textbook. I bought for my Italian Renaissance class.

general overview
General overview, skips a lot of meaningful information, does not use full name of artist (I'm not talking about those who go by one name, such as Giotto) when referencing creating a bit of chaos when they have such similar or the same names. Side by sides should be side by side.

For a textbook, this book serves it purpose. I feel like it could have been organized more purposefully and logically to be more effective for students.
