I was looking for a UPS that would provide instant switch over during power outages and also not have the obnoxious beeping sound that wakes everyone up at night when the power goes out for a few minutes or hours. This device answered the call. The device works flawlessly.

A great buy on Amazon Days. The instructions indicate software can be downloaded. WRONG. The website does not provide a downloadable software to do shutdown in a power outage.

Good value - and digital read out for a price similar to brands without - but software is clunky (fortunately it is not needed for operation of the unit)

This item smelled like burnt electronics right out of the box, even before being plugged in. After plugging it in, the smell was noxious and gave me a headache. The software download links didn't work for unzipped files (zipped worked). My security software flagged the install files as having unverified certificates and untrustworthy. NOT Recommended....

The unit works properly AND the burning plastic smell, as well as evidence of very cheap plastic (outlets bend when plugging and unplugging from unit) is apparent. Unfortunately, I use this unit in my bedroom and the very evident plastic smell began once the unit was unboxed. At first I thought it was due to unboxing unit. But then I came back to read the reviews and was stunned this unit is even being sold. Amazon won’t even take the unit back, offering a full refund and I get to keep this toxic paper weight. I’ll recycle it properly though.Luckily I found a much better manufacturer of these units because of this journey. Never in my life have I witnessed a UPS making a plastic burning smell and it is used in production. The other company I went with sounds like it’s a French company, and their software does exactly what I want: auto shut and auto start; and no burning plastic smell. Best part is it’s affordable too. Happy hunting.

The on/off switch is on the front, the plugs are vertical and in the back. if you have a couple of things to plug in that have AC converters ( Wall Warts ), you may find this plug input system awkward. All told, it does the trick and for me, it has plenty of power and gives me the time to allow me to power down my gear properly IF i'm home when the power goes off...

Used one for a phone system and survived multiple power blips and dips. Another one to provide ups for a poe switch, again surviving quite well.

I have a 32" LED TV, Cable modem, OTA VCR tuner, External HDD, HP all-in-one 27" PC, Roku box, and a large LED clock all plugged in to this UPS and it doesn't bat an eye when there is a brown out or black out. I used to buy APC brand, but this works better because it doesn't beep loudly like the APCs do, and has a handy LCD display that gives you the unit's status and battery duration. Very satisfied.FOLLOW UP - Unit battery only lasted a year. 1 star now.
