Good router, based on OpenWRT
The router offers expansion through its OpenWRT architecture, overcoming the initial limited setup options. It would be easy for a novice too. No push-button WPS pairing or power switch but the basic user-interface plus Luci extension provides good functionality. I reboot the router overnight and have minimal operational problems to date.

Great router, lots of features, quick to set up.
This is a very nice, very fast device. I am very happy with my purchase. I have previously flashed DDWRT onto my router and have really missed the features over the last few years - this has all of those lovely features and options to add more. I am using it as a bridge to the main router and it is giving excellent throughput and working really well. I will also be making use of the openvpn server as I am often away from my home network. Build quality seems good - design, according to my son, is a bit 'Deceptacon-ish'. If you want / need lots of configuration options for your router - this is the best I have found. My last was a Netgear Nighthhawk, which is absolute pants in comparison despite being a similar price when purchased.

Such a good router!
A perfect and affordable tri-band router with VPN, VPN Server, Tor, Parental Control, Storage Sharing, Adguard and lots of ad-ons available. So much customizable and freedom of use. I use it as a repeater and tethering. Such a good router from Gl-inet, love it so much.

Runs OpenWRT - Updated straight away.
GL.iNet GL-BE9300(Flint 3) Tri-Band WiFi 7 Vpn Router, Wireless High-Speed Gaming WiFi Router, Extensive Coverage, 5 ......Firstly, a note about the packaging, the box has a ‘tare’ style opening, which means you are basically destroying the box, not a good idea for those who like to keep their boxes! Inside the outer packaging is another plain box which holds the router, power supply (with UK and Euro adapters), a short LAN cable and setup guide leaflet, no proper instructions or even specifications are included. The router is a smart, futuristic looking unit, lying flat with a sloping front. There are 4 antennas on the back, these can only be tilted forward or backwards, there are no swivel options, and they are not removable either. Rear connections include power, a 2.5Gb WAN socket, 4 x 2.5Gb LAN sockets and a reset button, on the right had side is a USB-A port to USB 3.0 specification and a single status light on the front.Connection and setup were simple and was done by connecting my laptop directly to it via the LAN cable, I didn’t even have to use the IP address as my browser automatically went to the main menu page for quick setup and then allows access to the extensive menu system. There are 3 main operating modes, Router, Bridge and Wireless Repeater which are found on most routers these days but in addition there are 100’s of different options that can be set allowing full customisation of the operating system. This router runs a version of OpenWRT, which is a highly configurable system based on Linux, so you really need to know what you are doing before making any adjustments here, but defaults will be fine for most users.Another note here is that this router does not contain a modem, so if you have VDSL (internet that comes over your telephone line) then you will need a modem or connect this to your existing router via the LAN/WAN ports. With a lack of specification or instruction, I had to search the internet for information about this router, it is a Tri-band, WiFi 7 router which supports dual-WAN with failover, cellular tethering, VPN connectivity through OpenVPN, WireGuard and others. Performance-wise, it delivers good speeds with good range easily covering my whole house and maintaining high speed, it is even capable of streaming HDR video on multiple devices.

Amazing router, it was well worth the money to upgrade from my previous TP-Link one.

Hugely Configurable and Excellent WiFi Coverage
This WiFi 7 router arrived nicely packaged in a sturdy, shrink wrapped cardboard box that also contains 12V 4A PSU (with 1.5m cable and US and UK plug adaptors), a 1.5m Ethernet cable and quick start instructions. The technical details and full capabilities of this router are too many to go into in this review but there are many in depth technical reviews available on the web (Techradar, Rtings etc.) if you want full details and technical specifications. It’s a large device and reassuringly heavy so you do have to give some consideration to where it’s placed. The four antennae rotate almost 180° forward and back but there is no sideways rotation. A single USB 3.0 port is available on one side for network storage devices.I’m a computer techy so I love the fact that this uses OpenWRT firmware which has many advanced features and configuration options that you wouldn’t find on most domestic routers. This doesn’t mean it’s difficult to set up and use but it is aimed more at the tech savvy user than somebody who just wants a ‘plug and play’ device.I got this in anticipation of upgrading my phone and laptop later in the year so I will be able to use full WiFi 7 capabilities. My current phone and laptop don’t support WiFi 7 so for now I’m using this in simple access point (AP) mode. I have an Ethernet cable running from my main router at the front of the house to this router at the rear and it has made a huge difference to my wifi coverage and speeds. When I ordered this it was outstanding value for a WiFi 7 router at only £156.70. However, this has now gone up to £174.99 and as other manufacturers are dropping their prices (TP-Link’s BE550 WiFi 7 router has dropped from £299 to £161 on Amazon) this makes the price less competitive but because of the OpenWRT firmware and endless configuration options I’m still giving it 5 stars.
