Very Happy With Product. Arrived Quickly.
Cobra MRHH500FLTBT Marine Handheld radio---Very nice radio, clear sound. Bluetooth option works well with our Samsung Cell phone.(Allows the radio to answer calls with cell phone stored in water proof safe place on Kayak, or Boat.Note: Access to the phone is needed to initiate a call, but communication can proceed with the radio when call is answered to keepthe phone in a safe place while moving about the boat.)Weather radio function has scanning feature so weather info is quickly received from nearest station.Normally we monitor marine channel 16 in case of emergency calls, or serious problems while underway.A single button can toggle between channel 16 and 9 as desired. Other channels can be used as needed. Also has a scan feature to listen to all channels for any communications in progress. It floats too! Have not performed any range tests on our large lake with multiple coves at this time.

Sounds good, reaches far.
Great sound quality. Easy to use without any programming required. I use this when kayak fishing to talk to others on the water. Has decent range. I have been out fishing for up to 8 hours and have yet to see the battery go dead. Really like the compact design. The only thing I think they should add is a lanyard that has a bungee so you can reach while in a kayak and dont stress dropping it.

Portable and Durable
We love this portable radio. We keep this on our jet ski so we can hear all of the marine channels and for emergencies. It is light weight and very durable. The battery life last longer than we expected.

nice radio, Volume is a little low when riding a pwc
nice compact radio, I was wearing it on my life jacket and at speed I could not hear it, but the wind was going by my ears at 30MPH. I would probably get one with a shoulder mic of if I was going to buy another. Having the weather band on the radio is nice though.

Good so far
Same radio that the boat dock keeps. Decent and good size, nothing too fancy but a must have portable item for a boat I have not yet charged it so I don't know about battery life, but given that the boat dock keeps the same one, I'd say it's likely a solid choice.

Awesome radio with a great battery life
Great little radio, works as it should and the battery life is really good (lasted 2 - 10 hours days) it didn’t die I just went ahead and charged it. Definitely a lot of radio for the money.

Does not put out enough even at close distance.
I was on the water yesterday (25-MAY-25) when during bad weather a pontoon boat started taking on water. I immediately called for help knowing FWC Florida wildlife control was only 2 miles from our location but no response, same with the Coast Guard and local county sheriff marine unit. There was also a railroad bridge less than 1 mile away that could not hear my calls even as I put out a mayday call. Ended helping the boat myself while onlookers called 911 to get help, if you need help on the water you want a reliable VHF and in my opinion this model is NOT the option!
