96 songs make it worth the money.
I bought this book because it is really a fake book with no bass clef. Single notes only in the G clef. I like to fill in my own arrangement. The book could be half a lengthy because the notes are so large. There is no reason to be so large. The songs take-up 3-5 pages where most could fit into 2. Turning pages while playing is annoying. Each note has name of the note which is helpful to a absolute beginners. There are 96 songs so it’s worth the money.

Good selection, easy arrangements.
I like the EZPlay format music, as it's quick to read and the music is usually arranged in an "easy piano" style. While my level of musical skill is well above the arrangements, this format is great for my "older person" vision ... with large notes. On the other hand, the arrangements are sometimes a little too simplified, losing some of the nuances in the music. This particular book, with 367 songs (claimed ... I didn't count them), covers the top hits of the 1970s pretty well, including a few songs that aren't easily found in other collections of that period. As with most Hal Leonard publications, there are duplications with songs published in other collections ... something to watch out for. As an aside, I wish song books (from all publishers) had the complete table of contents available in their online listings.

Not for me.
This is advertised as a book for beginners, which it is. The problem is that the notation is so large that even short songs span multiple pages, requiring constant page turning and interruptions. Traded in for a more traditionally notated book.

Not what I receive
So here was the problem. I ordered the 70's and received the 60's. I liked the songs in the 60's so much I decided to just keep the book. So, I really can't rate the 70's book. But if you like the songs of the 60's you would be very happy with that purchase. I would give the 60's five stars.

Song book from the 70s
Large print not necessary for me, but may be for some. Lots of songs I want to learn to play on my guitar. Just what I was looking for.

Good songs
It was a birthday gift, and my friend was thrilled. He said he liked every song in the collection. Great gift for my guitar playing friend.

Too big and too heavy. Avoid
These were to replace previous original music books. These books are too big too heavy, they are the size of a large telephone book . They can not be supported by the normal music stand because they are too big and heavy

Well presented with notation and chords.
Great selection of 70s hits, some not familiar to me but plenty of choice regardless. Ideal for learning keyboard. I have several of these books as they are easy to read and fairly basic but great for learning.
