**Q: Are pesticides used in growing?**
A: Yes. Pesticide use on tea leaves is very high. Some companies are way over the limit. The limit is usually based on one tea bag or the equivalent amount. So if you drink two you might be over again. It's not just pesticides you should be worried about. Anthraquinone and PAs are in many teas. Some smaller companies disclose this info on their packaging since they also test, but for most companies the testing is lousy. This company does not disclose it on their packaging. In Canada they tested teas and only one brand passed out of many. Same in Europe. Only 5-10% passed.

**Q: Is this 100% pure Ceylon tea or are tea leaves from other regions mixed in?**
A: It was claimed to be 100% Ceylon tea - but the taste was not like many other Ceylon teas. We did not like it very much and will not be buying it again.

**Q: How does this tea compare with darjeeling tea with regard to flavor not color as darjeeling tea has a very light color?**
A: Similar to color. Ceylon is full body tea vs. darjeeling - light tea.

**Q: Does this Ceylon have any trace of smoky flavor? I mean even a tiny, momentary hint... making you pause to wonder if that's what you tasted?**
A: I did not detect any unusual flavor. We love this tea. There is not bitter taste. Best tea we have ever bought and tried.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for blending

Taste is very personal. My preferred tea is pure Assam leaf tea which is a full bodied and quite smooth tea. This Ceylon tea is more astringent and dare I say bitter in comparison. As a straight brew it isn't to my liking, but rather than throw it away as a error in purchasing I tried blending it with my Assam. And what a transformation! There are times when I would have preferred more pep with my Assam and this Ceylon tea is just the ticket. For one serving of Assam leaf I've experimented with blends of roughly 1/4 to 1/2 of added Ceylon and keeping the same brewing time of 3 minutes as for pure Assam. I was very surprised at the transformation in the overall tasting experience. I still have the overall body of the assam, but the blend now has more get up and go, so to speak. I've settled on a ratio of 1/4 to 1/3rd of Ceylon.
