Smith+Nephew CICA-CARE Self-Adhesive Silicone Gel Sheet for Scar Management, Wound Care Product, 5 Inches by 6 Inches

It's a miraculous product! I am genuinely amazed at how well this product works. After reconstructive surgery from accident, I was facing unsightly raised scar. This product was recommended by my PT group and it did not disappoint.

Bought these on the recommendation of my physical therapist. It’s very thick silicone - way better than what you can buy at the drug store. It has helped my scar lay much more flat and has helped with the appearance of it as well.

I had two bunionectomies and have 4 scars as a result. My foot surgeon gave me two sheets of Cica Care after I complained that the over the counter stuff (creams, gels and sheets, I've tried them all) wasn't effective. This product is amazing! Two scars were over a year old and were raised up and bright pink. I applied gel strips (cut to the size of the scar) for several months and the scars have decresased in color as well as thickness. The only downside is that I have to tape them down, otherwise they tend to fall off pretty easily. Also, I did not wear them during the summer because when they weren't protected by socks they tended to fall off, even with the tape holding them in place. That was probably due to the locations of my scars, though, as they are in places that rub against the shoe. While these sheets are expensive, they are well worth the money. You won't need to purchase anything else!

We purchased the CICA-CARE Gel Sheet by Smith & Nephew following surgery to reduce our son's scarring from severe burns. The gel strips do an excellent job of reducing raised scars from the surgery. We noticed improvement very soon after we began to use the sheets. However, there are a few drawbacks to the gel sheets. The first is that they come in a 5" x 6" square. The scars from his surgery were long and narrow causing us to cut them in narrow strips to cover the scarring. It would be excellent if this same product could be produced in strips. The other drawback was the price. We know that the price covers more than just manufacturing of the sheet and that there was a great amount of research and development costs to cover, but it is still tough paying $60 for a 5" x 6" gel sheet. (Amazon was the least expensive place we found for the product).Overall, we would highly recommend the use of the gel sheets for people needing to reduce scarring. This product was recommended to us by our son's surgeon and we are thankful he provided us the info on the product.

Given the price point they are a steal as similar products of the same size are insanely expensive live triple the price. I will say my doctor gave me another brand that was much more expensive but was way more adhesive and lasted quite a while but these get the job done. I've worn it for about 2 weeks now and rinse it with a bit of water and soap and air dry and they are still pretty adhesive. However, I will point out that I use it for a large burn on my forearm and I wear an athletic sleeve over it for compression so it may last longer for me then someone who is using it on an area that cant do that (torso, face, etc). Overall I'd buy it again but there was unfortunately a price increase which is a major bummer.

I started using this product 18 years ago when I had foot surgery, and the scar on my foot became hypertrophic. An orthopedic surgeon wrote a script for it, but it is no longer avail by script, so I found it online. I love it! I recently broke my wrist in 3 places. When the cast was removed, I wrapped the gel around my wrist to reduce the swelling and control the pain. I swear by this product, as my husband keloids. He had surgery. I put it on a scar that keloid, and it smoothed the scar out-truthfully and honestly!

I’m giving 1 stars because the main function isn’t work as the offered, it doesn’t stick well and that do not help to the main goal that it’s maintain que piece at least 12-24hrs to results. I will try to put an sleeve or something to keep the piece stuck, but that’s my personal solution. Also as the product constantly being un stickned from my skin makes to stick in other stuff so easly and makes the produc less durable, not sure how this is “sport friendly”, for me the product really disappointed meZ

These gel sheets are amazing. Just cut a piece from the sheet to the size you need, peel off the backing and apply over your scar. I take this gel piece off before showering or getting in the pool. After I remove it, I lay it in my hand and rinse under running water and rub with bar soap. Like magic, after it dries, it adheres to my skin like the first time I applied it. After 4 weeks, my scar is no longer an ugly red and the suture line is already flat. This exact product was recommended by my surgeon and I’m really glad I took her advice and made this purchase.
