I am trying to address all possible causes if my thin, flakey, constantly chipping and splitting nails. (I use all natural products, eat a healthy balanced diet, but do have some health issues.) My toenails are affected too, though not as bad. I also get dry hard skin that cracks on the sides of my nails, and at the fingertips too, always worsened by winter. So I moisturize and I'm supplementing with a multivitamin, extra biotin, silica and marine collagen. I now use Ten Over Ten and Ella & Mia nail strengtheners (cleanest I could find). I never used to use any kind of nail polish. This problem got so bad last winter, I knew I needed to address it. My extra-problem fingernails get so thin they are sensitive to air, and a few will split vertically up the nail bed. I had two fingernails with vertical splitting last winter and was able to heal them using silk fingernail tips pasted down with the nail strengtheners (not glue). A couple of months ago, I discovered fine Czech glass files :-) They feel so much better than metal files or emory boards; it's really noticeable. They are very effective and only the lightest pressure is needed. I love these files! Get yourself one of these tools, seriously), the 2mm fine grit file and buffer set, a 2mm fine grit full length file (black with pink tip), and the 3mm medium-fine grit aqua violet file. Phew. I have less chipping and less splitting. As for the hard skin that inevitably ends up cracking no matter the tons of Andalou body butter and sleeping in cotton moisturizing gloves -- well, that's where the TOOL is so handy. I attack the hard skin at the sides of my nails and fingertips with the tool. It feels great. I get it all smoothed down, silky smooth, and now my moisturizer is much more effective since it doesn't have to penetrate 2-3mm of built up, rock-hard, dry skin. To sum up, great products! If you want a quality product and not a cheap imitation, definitely give these a try. These are the best glass nail files I have used. The grit is very fine on the ends of the file while just a bit more coarse closer to the handle allowing you to adjust a bit as needed. The cuticle tool is absolutely wonderful! It made removing excess cuticle almost effortless using the pointed end around the sides of my nail. It also buffed away coarse areas on the sides of my finger easily. The pointed end is not dangerously sharp like a sharpened pencil, but I still used it very gently. Almost no pressure was needed. The flat surface of the beveled end is smooth so you do not have to worry about damaging your nail surface while pushing back cuticles, and having the circular sides with a gritted surface is a total bonus as it gently buffs the delicate area right next to the nail. All the tools came with individual cases to protect them when not in use. The circular tube for the cuticle tool has small pads in the ends to protect the tool. The middle piece of the plastic cases for the files always came out no matter which end I removed, but an extremely small spot of glue fixed the issue. Also, the packaging for shipment was excellent. Each piece was individually wrapped and placed together in bubble wrap inside a small box. I will definitely purchase from this seller again now that I know the quality of the product. There are cheaper options available from others, and while some may be quality products, all I found were cheap “spray on” files that lost their grit quickly. These files are definitely worth the price.

I've never been a "girly-girl" who has to have perfectly manicured nails, but I do like having a self-care day once every few months. Working at a gas station doesn't really leave me with the opportunity to getting mani/pedis as pumping out spill buckets, handling heavy case deliveries, and various other dirty jobs kind of negates the beauty aspect of being a woman, so manicures tend to be very low on the priority list. She couldn't sing better praises for them and after a while I caved and bought a set (large file, shorter file, and cuticle pusher) because if I didn't I'm sure she would've nagged me about it until the end of time... OMG THESE THINGS ARE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!! They file like a dream! They glide like a hot knife through butter and NEVER LEAVE FREYED EDGES!!! I can file my nails quickly in any direction and never have a rough edge that snags on clothes or leaves me looking like my cat had an argument with my face! And for the cost of the set?! COMPLETELY WORTH IT! They are worth a hundred times more than the $15 I paid! Fantastic value! And the cuticle pusher itself is worth it's weight in gold! I used it on my toenails (always had a problem with overgrown cuticles on my big and baby toes) and boy was I amazed at how clean it handled them (say goodbye to nasty overgrown and hardened toe cuticle)! You don't even need to use a lot of pressure (like digging a trench), just a light hand tackled those puppies like nobody's business!! Highly, EMPHATICALLY recommend this set!!!
