I was curious about this little pug-nosed derivative and I have been happy with the quality and action
I typically catch a range of bass and northern pike on Rattlin' Rapalas or the similar Berkely Frenzies. I was curious about this little pug-nosed derivative and I have been happy with the quality and action. Berkley often makes under-rated lures, and the hooks are always top notch (super sharp, resist wear etc.). Berkley takes an over-saturated market of rattling, variable depth lures and provides a fresh new contour, a line of inspiring colors, and a fun branding. I recommend using these lures in deeper waters (5'-10') and reeling them in alternating patterns of fast and then slow. It induces the rattling sound and then allows fish to catch up to them. So far, I have caught predominantly northern pike, but I did get one walleye in particularly deep water and with a slower retrieve.

Great design, poor quality
Lipless crankbaits are a winter go-to bait for me. I thought I’d try something other than a Strike King RedEye Shad this winter and decided to give Berkley a try. Unfortunately, the quality just doesn’t stand up.Don’t get me wrong. The bait looks great and fishes fine....but, after about 15 minutes of fishing, I noticed 1 of the eyes was missing. I know it had a left eye before I threw it into the water, but at some point that left eye disappeared. It still fishes just fine and I’m sure it will catch fish...but I miss that eye. He looks dead and without a soul when I look into that empty void of an eye socket.Compare that to my 1/4 oz RedEye Shad. I’ve had him for about 6 years now. Although the paint has chipped and the hooks have been replaced, this guy has something my new Warpig doesn’t have...2 eyes. And a soul.

KILLER PIKE LURE!!
This particular lure in the blue and silver is KILLER for Northern Pike. I used my first one for a year until it was nearly unrecognizable from so many bite marks. Most of the blue was gone but it still works! My second one lasted 3 casts and I hooked into a huge Northern but the line snapped and lost it. Caught many pike on this lure, the largest being 42 inches! Caught walleye on it as well.Just cast out, reel in fast to pull the lure down then proceed with a slow retrieve.

Great Flatsided crank
I am a huge fan of flat aided crankbaits due to the fact that I frequently fish pressured, clearer water. These Frittside cranks cast a mile, have a very tight wobble, have tough scratch resistant paint jobs and have awesome hardware. (I LOVE Berkley Fusion treble hooks!). Most people who throw smaller flatsided cranks do so on a spinning rod because if the light weight of the balsa wood, however, the Frittside has a balsa like feel but due to the weight system in them they cast like a normal crank and can be easily fished on baitcasting setups. These will now be a staple in my cold water crankin arsenal.

Great lure
I've had two of these in my tackle bag since February, and had forgotten them until today, I couldn't get anything to get a hit so I just started swapping lures and got a hard hit on the second cast from a fishing pier on a public lake. The "black and silver" . I went to a private pond this evening where they usually hit just pumpkin worms, fishing was a little slow so I gave this another try and Bam same thing, I caught 3 in 5 minute span. Impressed me enough to buy another as a spare and write this review to say thanks to whoever put this thing together. I said I have two at the start of this review, the other is a bluegill I think, I didn't have much luck with that one.

Rad Bad Shad
Hard to go wrong with the Bad Shad! Great lure. Use it mostly on walleyes, works much better than the Good Shad!Disclaimer: I didn't catch those gravel lizards with the Bad Shad, they didn't want him that day. But I have caught many others on him!PS Rocks and stumps enjoy nipping at him too. They hit hard and furious if given ample opportunity and sometimes will claim your beloved bait.

If you want a bigger fish you need a bigger lure
There are so many different lures, sizes, shapes etc. it's hard to know which lure to get. I got the 2.25" Wild Thang and it is maybe on the larger size for what I normally catch, It also needs a fair amount of reel speed to get the right action. You can tell because your tip will bend a little as the lure dives. I trolled at about 1.5mph and caught a nice channel catfish that though this thing looked tasty.

I’ll keep trying
They’re just ok. I prefer Norman DD22’s, Storm Mag Watts, and Bomber Fat Free Shads. I have yet to catch anything on the Berkley Dredgers. I think the wobble is too wide and slow for largemouth. I haven’t gained any confidence on these yet.
