Trailer
I purchased the lock for my trailer hoping it will prevent my new trailer from being stolen as my first trailer was stolen in a parking area close to the highway they must have cut the two locks I had on it took my car hauler trailer. This wheel lock feels heavy and sturdy and pretty easy to get on.

Easy-To-Use Protection
When vandals nearly stole my Aluma motorcycle trailer, I knew I needed more protection than latch-pin and tongue locks. The Trimax TWL100 Yellow Wheel Lock is very visible and will help deter thieves. Make no mistake, it can be defeated with the proper power tools but they make a lot of noise. Thieves don't care for that. One thing you need to know: My Trimax wheel lock did have some burs that needed to be filed down. Don't ask how I found them:-)

Excellent, highly visible deterrent
I live in an area where property theft is rampant, and few things are more popular to steal than trailers. They're hard to secure and easy to sell. I've looked at tons of options for how to secure my trailer, and this one seems to be the best. My trailer has been parked in the street in front of my house for two weeks now, with no sign of tampering. Criminals simply don't want the hassle of trying to defeat this thing. The key to security is not to try to find something that can't be defeated. ANY locking mechanism can be defeated. The trick is to find something that is such a hassle to try to remove that criminals will bypass it in favor of an easier target. That is what this wheel lock accomplishes. When a crook sees this on my trailer, he'll most likely pass it up in favor of the one down the street that's just got a simple coupler lock. It's big, heavy, complex, and highly visible. You CANNOT move the trailer while it is attached, and removing it will require either time-consuming lock picking or loud power tools. No criminal wants to be that conspicuous.I will absolutely recommend this to my friends who own trailers and cars they would like to secure. I only wish they made a larger model that I could use to secure my Jeep (which has 35" tires).

Good wheel lock.
I recieved the wheel lock promptly. It looks like a good device. One thing that concerns me is the rivits on the pivot points , it looks as though they could bo ground off and removed. Then the clamp would come apart. The rivits are heads are exposed.

I must have been shipped the wrong item!
Re-reading the other consumers' reviews, I must have been shipped a "boot" way different than what was shipped to them.I have a heavy-duty 14K pound trailer that I wanted to add another later of security to, so I purchased this item through Amazon because it had received such good reviews!Immediately out of the box, the thing looked flimsy. Made from tack welded pieces of sheet metal. (I was expecting some hefty solid steel at least for the "arms" of the device.)I figured I would try to install it anyway to see if it would work. The arms were too narrow and too shallow to fit over and around my 16" tires and rims! Only the glued on rubber tips of the arms were touching the outtermost portion of the rim lip. Only the rubber padded insides of the sheet metal clamp arms indenting into the tire sidewalls was holding the thing on. The bolt-on (nut and washers missing by the way. Luckily, I had spares laying around.) "cone" was also made of the same thin-gauge sheet metal. After attaching it to the contraption, it WAS centered over my hub (yay!) only to discover the hub protrudes to far (about three inches or so) holding the darn thing far enough and wobbly enough to get a lug nut spanner onto the lug nuts to take them off. Then, after I have the thing all tightened down and the clamp cover locked, my seven year old walks up with a screw driver and pops the clamp mechanism cover open! And then starts trying to turn the "super-secure" triangle shaped clamping bolt head loose! The same one by the way that is fully exposed for the "hub cover" clamp. You know, the one that didn't cover my lug nuts in the first place?Needless to say, I will be testing Amazon's return policy on this device as well!I had also bought this company's keyed alike combo kit and returned it as well. Just not happy with the quality of this company's merchandise.Unless of course I got shipped the wrong item...?

It is well made.
Any lock can be broken the question is how long will it take. I have several wheel locks that can be broken in less time than it takes me to find the key. This provides the best protection so far. The hope is that it will change the mind of the theif because it isn't easy. It is well made which makes for the only down side I can find. It is heavy and cumbersome to get on the wheel. Not a problem but does take some effort. I am pleased with the purchase.

Used on our camper wheel lock
I thought I would purchase this unit as well as another brand. When I compare the two this unit is slightly thicker metal, has much larger rivets, the main drive bolt is way heavier than the other cheaper brand. Also the unit has a second lock on it for adjustments were the cheaper unit does not. All in all this unit is much beefier and should work well

OK, not a lot of bang for the buck.
My neighbor paid $250 for a pair of these locally. I feel they are not worth what I paid on Amazon which was substantially less. The locks that secure the little doors you access to tighten the jaws are junk. 1 of them on the 2 units I bought doesn't even lock. And, the keys seem all the same so anyone with a trimax may be able to open your lock anyways. But seriously, with any of these locks, you are trying to keep an honest man honest. Someone who is prepared could certainly bypass these without too much problem, and I'm sure the cup that covers the lugs could be ripped right off.so make sure you get them as cheap as possible. I actually feel the u shaped much cheaper ones I have may stand up to a thief better. There is a lock that looks awesome made in Canada, but they only do 15 inch wheels not 16 so this was my only real choice

Fits great on my utility trailer, 205/75R14 wheel
nice and snug, fits good, seems and looks like it would deter a thief. But enough time, any experienced thief could get it off. But I think they would have to be quite noisy doing it so I feel it is now secure. Better than just having a cable going thru the wheel to the frame because that cable can be cut easily and quietly.

I'm not sure how well this would withstand forceable removal
In my case, the fit is okay - but not perfect. It is very sturdy and appears to be well made; however, I wonder how secure the locking mechanisms are. If the lock covers are pried open this device would be easy to remove. I also think this device, like many other concepts, could potentially be cut off with a grinder. I would recommend this device as part of a multi-part security approach but, if you're trying to protect a very expensive item, I wouldn't rely on this alone.

Not as advertised
This item is too difficult to put on and it does not fit my product properly as advertised. They do not have free returns and want a restocking fee. Unacceptable! This item cost me $416.18 with return postage ($54.85) and my refund came to $289.07 with a difference of $129.11.This is ridiculous customer service. I paid all that money for a product that was not as described. This company needs to be reported to the Better Business Bureau for their shady advertising and poor customer service!
