I still have my old Apple SoundDock from around 2005, and even though it's been sitting around for years, it still sounds surprisingly good. The only problem was that it was designed for the old 30-pin iPods and iPhones, so I couldn't use it with my current iPhone anymore. I found this adapter while searching for a solution and decided to give it a try. I'm really glad I did because it worked exactly the way I hoped it would. I paired it with my iPhone, opened Spotify, and within a couple of minutes I was streaming music wirelessly through the SoundDock. The Bluetooth connection has been solid, the audio quality is excellent, and I honestly forget the adapter is even there. It's nice being able to enjoy a speaker I already own instead of replacing it with something new. If you have an older Apple SoundDock or one of the compatible Bose docking speakers, this is an easy way to make it useful again. Looking back, I wish I had found this years ago because it saved a great speaker from collecting dust.

Brought new life to an old iHome clock radio with a 30 pin iPhone/iPod dock. The radio has terrific audio quality but at some point, the old 4s I can dock with it won't run any apps (can't believe most things are supported even by old app versions!). This Bluetooth adapter connected to the dock perfectly and was easy to pair with a newer device wirelessly. The audio quality is great considering it is Bluetooth. The only thing it wouldn't do was work with the radio's remote. It did say that it should in the compatibility chart but that isn't a big deal. The mobile device itself is where the music is controlled from once the radio volume max is set (phone volume rocker takes it from there). The power to the adapter from the iHome works perfectly and there was no need to use the 3.5mm connection as the dock connection the adapter plugs into transfers the data to the radio. Also, keep in mind that you should turn it off by the on device switch when not using else it can create some signal noise that interferes with radio reception, especially on the AM band. If you don't use the AM/FM radio I guess that wouldn't matter. For giggles, I plugged it into an old Sony dream machine that was not on the supported list. It did get power enough to work but I had to plug the 3.5mm adapter into the Sony auxiliary device port. The remote on the Sony didn't work any more than the iHome one did (not that it matters much) but in a pinch I would get another to work on the Sony too. These adapters are cheap enough to justify breathing life into good sounding radios and avoiding a new purchase or making more garbage.

I got this thinking that the 3.5mm jack was an input vs an output, but I worked around it. I still have my old countertop bose soundlink, which I always loved the sound quality of. It natively has the old iPod connection, which I had gotten an adapter to go from iPod to iPhone and that worked well for a time. This time, I had wanted to make CDs for my kids and connect a cd player to this so I could get some use out of the speaker, but this is strictly a bluetooth receiver, of which is works well. What I ended up doing was playing spotify on my desktop computer (that rarely gets used) and casting to the bluetooth receiver on the bose player. Works well with no connectivity issues. I might try this as well with a home projector we got cheap that has a terrible built-in speaker, and I can use this bose speaker to be it's main speaker via bluetooth.

This little device brought new life to my Bose Sounddock and a smile to my face. That poor Sounddock has been sitting unused on my shelf for years.... The listing was very clear that the device does NOT work digitally on the B&W Zeppelin, but it is capable of connecting through an 'audio out' cable. I was delighted to make the DockLinQ work on my Zeppelin! (I had to try it a few times, so if you're trying to connect to a Zeppelin, don't give up.) Now I have to decide which one I keep, or if I buy ANOTHER DockLinQ! (I'm partial to the Zeppelin because it's very cool looking.) Decisions, decisions....

For my older bose2 sound dock it works very good. Apple does not make 30 pin lightning adapter anymore so the invery got my dock back up and running for fair price love it!

States that is does not work with car audio but this one does, have an older avic n5 and it transmits bluetooh signal and powers up without an additional block. Downside is that you can not see what is being played on screen and also you have to change tracks with your actual device instead of the head unit. Im giving a 4 because at least it works.

I picked up the INVERY DockLinQ Pro to breathe some life back into my old Bose SoundDock, and honestly, it’s done exactly what I was hoping for—with a few small caveats. First off, setup couldn’t have been much easier. It’s basically plug-and-play: dock it into the 30-pin connector, pair it via Bluetooth, and you’re good to go. No apps, no complicated steps. Within a minute or two, I was streaming music from my phone like the SoundDock had Bluetooth built in from day one. Sound quality is surprisingly solid. I was a bit worried there’d be some noticeable drop compared to a wired connection, but for everyday listening, it’s more than good enough. Music sounds full and clear, and I didn’t notice any weird compression artifacts or lag. It handles both music and podcasts well, and even videos stayed in sync without obvious delay. The Bluetooth connection has been stable in my experience. I can leave my phone in another room and still get uninterrupted playback, which is something cheaper adapters often struggle with. It also reconnects automatically when I come back into range, which is a small thing but makes daily use feel seamless. Build-wise, it feels decent—not premium, but not flimsy either. It sits neatly on the dock without wobbling, and the design doesn’t look out of place. That said, it does stick out a bit, so if you’re picky about aesthetics, you’ll notice it. If I had to nitpick, the price is a little on the higher side for what is essentially a Bluetooth receiver. Also, there’s no onboard controls, so everything has to be managed from your phone. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing. Overall, though, it’s a really practical upgrade if you’ve got an older Bose SoundDock gathering dust. Instead of replacing the whole system, this adapter gives it a second life with modern wireless convenience—and it does so reliably. I’ve been using it daily since I got it, and it’s quickly become one of those purchases I don’t have to think about anymore, which is probably the best compliment I can give it.
