I confess to being a corkscrew junkie. I probably have twenty or more, including the original Screwpull, the Rabbit, an Oxo, one that involves inserting a needle through the cork then blowing it out, on and on. But like most wine lovers, I keep coming back to the old Walter's style corkscrew. This two-stage unit, though the second stage is not always necessary, is a worthwhile improvement.

This is a fantastic opener. For the price, I was concerned it would be cheap, but it is only cheap in price. The opener itself is very sturdy, has two hinges (ridges/steps) to use for leverage on the wine bottle lip to get the cork out, and does not scratch. I prefer these openers to the more fancy kind, and have spent much more money on ‘waiters friend’ style of openers. Not any longer. The price does not reflect the high level of quality. I’ll be buying more since you can never have too many of these laying around!!
