Doesn't last test of time
Sure didn't last as long as I thought it would. Less than a year after installing it needed replaced and I'm easy on my truck and took care of it

Good replacement.
Good replacement. Failure of these handles seems to be largely due to the hinge being weaker on the side away from the locking mechanism; therefore, when pulling up/out on the handle try to put most of pressure on the side closest to the locking mechanism. I actually put a small stick on label (Pull Here!) on the lock side of the handle to remind me and others where to pull; looks a little tacky but if it extends the life a couple of years, so what Don't forget to use some WD-40 on the latch and locking mechanism while you have the door panel off. Also be prepared for one or more of the clips that hold the door panel on to strip or break when you pop them out. One or two missing won't make a lot of difference; if you need some you might be able to get them through Amazon.

Easy fix for the door handle.
It's frustrating when your drivers side door latch breaks, having to open the passenger side door, crawl over the console and unlatch the drivers door from the inside. So..this latch is a God send. Works great, followed the directions I found on You-Tube, but my door had electric window switches, etc., but the mechanics were all the same. The manufacturers claim of an exact fit is spot on. All the holes match up and the tabs all snap back in place. Be careful not to break the plastic snap in door panel studs and don't lose the small plugs that hide the arm rest screws (I did). The only small quirk is a little extra play when you lift the door handle to open the door, but hardly noticeable I still give it an A+ for fixing the problem.

Solid product
I replaced this door handle a little over three years ago and am having to replace it again now. The original handle on my truck lasted 12 years but an OEM part costs 6 to 7 times as much as this one. So will this one last as long as an OEM part? Probably not. But for $13 I'll gladly replace it every 3 to 4 years instead of paying top dollar for an OEM part. This isn't a hard part to change out yourself so if you're handy, I'd suggest doing this yourself every leap year and save some money.

I am glad that I did not pay more than 100
Products works exactly as it should. I see nothing that would make it inferior to the original toyota part. It would have gotten 5 stars if not for the little seal that comes around the handle. It was a little difficult to get it to stay on while mounting it. Everything else worked perfectly. I did spray some silicone spray on the moving parts of the handle since other were recommending spraying a lubricant. I am glad that I did not pay more than 100.00 for the Toyota factory part. Would recommend this product to anyone.

Works fine on my Gen 1 Tacoma
Good fit to replace the broken handle. Feels a bit thinner plastic than the factory handle. been on my truck for a month now and works just great. Good deal, well worth the price. I did not use the gasket that came with this, resued the rubber gasket that I pulled off the factory handle since it fit better.

Assembly Did Not Fit My 2000 Tacoma PreRunner
The quality of the unit appears OK, but for my 2000 Tacoma PreRunner the lock side mounting bolt on the new one is about 1/8" higher than the original. I was able to line it up and install mounting bolts and control rods, but since I had to pry it down to line up the left bolt hole, this resulted in unusual compression on the handle rod which resulted in major problems trying to unlock the door when completed. I have electronic locks. The compression would prohibit the unlocking rod from fully rising. Only major fiddling would get the door to unlock. My solution... since the new door handle piece was mounted to the assembly with a removable rod, I extracted the handle piece, cut the original broken handle from the OEM assembly, and used the new rod and handle on the OEM assembly. PERFECT FIT. WORKS GREAT. So for around $1.50 this did take care of the issue, but again I find aftermarket parts aren't always a good thing.

I would recommend this part
This part was an exact fit, but the quality was not quite OEM. I would recommend this part.My old handle was grabbing on the right (key hole) side and starting the fail. When I got the new one on, it worked much better, but still grabbed on the right a bit. The door latch mechanism was sticking. I greased it and now the door works like new.
