I have also added this same hub to my son & 3 different friends 4K firesticks & all work as expected. There is NO compatibility issue with the OTG cable on a Y adapter. Seller refers to the Firestick usb 2.0 connection which is backward compatible. For those who have a fast connection, it pays to remember the ethernet connection on a 4K firestick is 10/100. If you require a faster speed, use your wifi connection. Requirement to stream 4K is listed at 68MB/s. As an aside, I use this hub with a 128gig SDD drive plugged into the hub as well as the bluetooth dongle of a logitech full size computer mouse which contains all 97 programs which I use running at 550MB/s on ethernet speed averages 90MB/s & have user-disabled 41 Amazon proprietary programs. Reason to use this 3.0 hub is it will carry maximum speed down compatible with the 2.0 usb Firestick connection. My Cache available free space is 3.96 GB of the 5.34 GB available. If you want to connect the adapter to your firestick, you need a specially-made OTG adapter that has an isolated power cable, since the hub occupies the power port of the stick. If power-hungry devices such as hard drives and printers are connected, you can supply external power to the adapter via the DC5v port next to the included cable. It does not goes into sleep mode even if you keep it on for 24 hours. I usually switch it off during the night but its always on for bout 12-15 hours and has never caused any problem what so ever..it offers great speed when connected to lan from my router. i can smoothly stream 4K content from you tube without any lag or increased buffer time (Also depends on your ISP). Got a 3.0 USB port and i have connected a 64 GB sandisk usb drive and it offers a good read and write speeds for FTP connection..Worth the money..5 STARS ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good product *by A***E on 21 January 2020* I am using this to enable wired ethernet connection to my amazon fire stick. Wired connection works much better on fire stick and the speeds are higher and more stable. Even when firestick doesn't have support for usb 3.0, the internet speed is much better than wifi for stable 4k streaming. Because of the multiple USB ports, can also use keyboard and mouse along with firestick. Highly recommended. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works as expected *by F***N on 9 April 2022* Haven't checked speeds of the USB, but the ethernet gigabit works as advertised. Strangely however, the device gets really hot (not warm, hot) when connected with the ethernet cable, USB-only works cool.The 3 LEDs were confusing: I assumed them to be 1 each for each USB, however, there seems to be no LED associated with the 3 USBs at all. The 1sr LED is solid blue, shows device is powered, 3rd LED is solid blue when ethernet is connected, and 2nd LED blinks when network packets are passing through. I do not know if 100 megabit connection shows a different color (orobably not).Did I mention it is very light weight and feels quite plasticky. Comparing it to my TP-Link USB which is quite well made, this one is a bit of a bummer. There is a possibility to power this device externally if using high current USB devices through this, but this additional power is through a round jack, if you can find a USB-to-3.5mm power deliver cable (it did not come with this cable). Why could they not use a standard microUSB or USBC socket, just why?
