A Life Changing Stool
I've never written an Amazon review ever before so it's funny a stool is the first. However, that is just how amazing and life changing this stool is if you need to get to high places fairly often. I had a two step stool that was shorter than the shortest step of this Rubbermaid stool.PRO'S: First, the height of this stool is VERY tall. I was shocked when I first unfolded it. I took it into my backyard where we have hanging plants and was easily able to reach them without lugging out the heavy ladder. I took it to the front of the house and could easily reach the roof to hang Christmas lights.Second, it is extremely light. I've been able to whip this thing around with one hand with no problem. Just today I needed to grab something on my ceiling rack in my garage. I was able to squeeze between a car and shelves with it in one hand to get where I needed. It's very convenient. Being able to fold it up and store it in a convenient place in the house is great. I appreciate the width of the steps too. I feel much more sturdy and in place while standing compared to a ladder.Overall, this stool easily takes the place of a ladder for common household needs. No more leaning awkwardly toward or away from what you need to get to. No more misjudging the best spot and direction to have the ladder. I'll never use a ladder ever again if I don't need to. Thanks Rubbermaid! One thing I wish it had was a latch to hold the legs together when it's closed. The legs will separate if you're holding it only by the handle and not both legs together. Also, depending what you are doing, stepping down from the third step can feel a little tricky since there is nothing to hold on to until you're halfway down to the second step to reach the top handle.Hope this helps

I didn't expect to like it this much
This thing is light enough to carry with one hand, very flat for storage, and actually VERY stable for its weight. It's perfect for cleaning the gutters (at 8' height) or getting stuff from the "garage upper storage". And the price is great too.Take the example of cleaning gutters... You're going to have to move a ladder over-and-over. With this, moving it is effortless. I'm also going to be hanging long tube lights in my garage, so I need to move the ladder over and over. Painting... same deal. For storage it's very flat because when you put it against a wall (step side out) the feet can actually be against the wall. It doesn't have to "lean" so the feet don't need to be out because the center of gravity is closer to the wall than the points where it contacts the wall. Or, it's light enough you can hang it on hooks. This is certainly not a rugged construction ladder, and if it were you'd sacrifice weight and portability. I'm 230 pounds and I feel very stable, even at the big step at the top. (Which supports my weight even though it's plastic.)Someone wrote a negative review about the handle and I have NO idea what they're talking about.

A lightweight heavyweight!
Bought an earlier model 13 years ago from Home Depot for use in the town's food pantry. When I decided I wanted one for myself, I couldn't find one and settled for a much heavier step ladder that was hard to lug around. I was delighted to see this updated Rubbermaid. The legs locks in place when open, enabling you to safely stand on the 12" x 12" top platform, which is a real plus and gets me right up to the ceiling...and I don't get a workout carrying it to where it's needed. Stores nicely, standing alongside the the coats in the mudroom closet. I'm under 110 pounds and it's plenty stable for me. The old one had a metal bail latch to lock the unit open in place. This one is heavy duty plastic. Serves the purpose well but seems to be attached to the platform with a small screw that might not hold up over time with repeated latching and unlatching. Should be ok if used with a little care. Over time it could fail (4 stars out of 5 for sturdiness on this point). Over all I'd buy it again.

Weighs nothing! Very strong!
I can move this anywhere, it weighs nothing, which helps because layers are just unwieldy. I'm so glad I bought this!!! Wish it had one more step, but I can balance on the handle (not recommending, but I do it lol and feel secure even then!!)Funny thing, my Aussie is terrified of it! No I never squished her toes... She's just a little bit nuts.Worth every penny!!! Thank you RUBBERMAID! ❤️

Lightest 3-step ladder in the universe
Got one of the last (at the time) from Rubbermaid. This is sooo light, a strong wind would blow it away. The movement from place to place is easy. Set-up is quick and once you get the hang of closing it to move, that works pretty darn well too.

Fits My Needs
I am short in stature and have used makeshift elevation tactics to extend my reach such as a kitchen chair next to a bar stool for years. Needless to say, risky. I usually didn't want to take the time to get the six foot wooden ladder out of the garage. After several close falls, my husband encouraged me to buy a step ladder for in house use. I researched and purchased this one. I wish I'd done it years ago. It is lightweight, sturdy, and easy to maneuver. Well worth the money. I highly recommend the ladder. The only caveat is: Made in China. I was trying to find one made in the US and thought the Rubbermaid brand was; not so; Made in China.
