Does this part require dealer programing? Or will it work directly out of the box?

It does work directly out of the box but I will say when I installed this on my 2007 Tahoe...the air stopped blowing and it would get so hot in the car and it sounded like it would come out of the feet option...I would not recommend buying this...

What are the measurements on this

No idea what the measurements are, but, it fit my 2007 Tahoe perfectly. It HAS to be programmed by the dealership, but, it only took a few minutes and , if I remember correctly, they only charged me $40.

COULD A LAY PERSON INSTALL THIS CONTROL UNIT??

Yes. The hardest step is actually removing the bezel without breaking or cracking to get to the 4 - 6 mounting screws. Removing the surrounding bezel takes a bit of controlled force in the right places. And I highly recommend purchasing a small set of the specialty tools - plastic "knives" that allow you pry without damaging surfaces. Make sure this unit is a perfect fit for your application; for a GM unit with the digital temp display in the mirror, this unit displays the temp in the middle of the UI display... Which I did not need.

Can anyone send me a link on how to install this? I’ve searched on YouTube and haven’t had any luck.

It's plug and play. The hardest part is taking the front of the dash off without breaking the clips.
