How many parts per million does this paste detect?

This paste finds H2O that is precipitated from petroleum solutions and is sediment at the bottom of storage tanks as essentially 100% water. I find the paste to be very sensitive to water sediment in #2 oil tank and avoid measurements during high humidity atmospheric conditions, like fog or mist, to avoid contamination of the paste during insertion to the oil tank.

Can this be used for well water depth test?

Kolor Kut indicated presence of water. I expect it can reflect level. I may question use in potable water source, although it does not seem particularly soluble. I suggest you reference the specifications. The recommended use is in oil tanks.

Why is the price double of what you pay in a parts or supply shop?

I heat with waste oil and I know I have some water etc in my oil. Will this detect the presence of water in my waste oil?

certainly of course you have to let the load settle and the water go to the bottom.
