Great air purifier. Slightly bigger than I thought so had to find a place that would make the most of having it on. It’s currently place between our kitchen and living room. Having hard floors and 3 dogs means that there is always a lot of dust in the air and this machine does a brilliant job of clearing some of the dust out of the air. When cooking it kicks in and filters the air to get rid of anything it deems to affect the air quality. (Very clever) I keep it on automatic and let it run if it own doing but it can be turned on to run continuously if needed. I also use the timer mode first thing in the morning to clear the air as my partner suffers from asthma and she seems to think that it’s helping. There’s an app that can be used to monitor the air quality and also the life expectancy of the air filter and when it will need cleaning. Also on the app you can set timers for when you get up so the air filter works if you want a clean before jumping outta bed. Overall very happy with the machine and the price we paid.

This excellent for anyone who smokes or vapes. The purifier really picks it up quickly and kicks in. I run it in Automatic 24/7 and I'm really impressed how long the filter last before requiring cleaning. I would say it's not any louder than a kettle when running at maximum speed. My only regret was not investing one sooner. My good lady often frounds at the tech is I buy, however, she has also bought one .

Update: 05/02/2025: Further to my review and previous updates, I have again had to return this second Philips 900 Air Purifier today after further contact with Philips UK technical Support. I was on the line with them for about 40 minutes whilst they tried to get any information regarding availability of filters for this specific model. 2 Days ago I checked back on Amazon for availability and to my surprise they were available to order - however, when I looked at the delivery date, they were due to be delivered anywhere from 3 to 7 months time! I was about to order one this morning, but going back to Amazon today, they were no longer available to order and didn't know if they ever would be! On this basis I contacted Philips as above - and they apologised that they had no availability dates, nor had they had any for nearly a year! So he suggested I return it and gave me a reference along with a discount for a product off their website - however I have now completely gone off Philips products because of the uncertainty and lack of spares availability. I will not be ordering a Philips model and have instead gone for a Airversa model. So I really would caution prospective buyers, as although the product works well, the lack of filters is a major issues, as you could be lfet without a working Purifier in 6-12 months depending on use and be unable to return it. Update 22nd January 2025: After some more research, it would appear that the lack of filters seems to be a Global problem, given the manufacturing process and demand for these - especially is the domestic consumer market as more of these air purifiers are purchased. From what I can deduce, it seems that manufacturers get these into stock in batches and they are then sold very quickly. Hence why you need to leave your details on the 'notify me when back in stock' that is shown on many manufacturer websites. I did think it very odd that a 'new' product released in mid 2024 would have no spares - but I suspect this may be to do with the fact that the filters on this particular model are supposed to last 12 months. That being the case, there shouldn't be a need for these until mid 2025.... So after returning this model and having undertaken a few more days of research, I kept coming back to the Philips 900 series as the Air Purifier of choice. It's the perfect size and seems more robust that the Blueair alternatives that I was considering, plus I didn't like the Blueair 'stocking cover pre-filter' design. In every respect the App seems a lot better having used it briefly already, and the size is perfect for where it has to go in the room - others were too tall. So I have re-ordered the same model and I hope that by the time I need a new filter, they should have them in stock. I'll update the review again once I can more closely monitor the performance more closely and of course the filter situation. I nearly bought the previous 800 series as that had filters available - bit as this was the same price as the newer model and the later model has newer technology I thought it was better to give the later model another go. So given the global filter issue, I'll revise my rating back up to 3 and monitor onwards with a view to changing this upwards again in due course if it proves worthy. I didn't like the Levoit models - their apps are more focussed on Alexa and Google that I do not use, but the Philips at least have third party Siri shortcuts that work with for Apple device users. The Dark grey colour of the unit is much more aesthetically pleasing that the awful white coloured alternatives out there, so blends in with my other home equipment that black. I suspect that perhaps I should of left the air purifier on a medium to high setting initially to clean the air in the room, rather than just putting is straight onto Auto mode which is near silent, so that may be why it never really appeared to do it's job on first use. I will say that if you spray any deodorant or anti-perspirant in the room, it does detect this near instantly, and the fan increases, so I know that the sensor is at least working. Here's hoping it will come through on the replacement filter supply front in due course. I should also mention that the cost of these filters (circa £32 when available) are much better value for 12 months life than some others like Blueair that are only 6 months. I did consider the AEG 5000 as an alternative, but the price of the filters is over double the cost of the Philips. So you really do need to factor these ongoing costs on. The energy usage is also excellent on the Philips, so another bonus to ongoing costs. Original Review: Just bought this Jan 2025 after some research, but after having it for a week the air Purifier never seems to actually do anything. It stays on the lowest fan setting which is near off, and yet the small room it was intended for gets very dusty (everything gets a layer of dust on every day) so I was concerned that this was not really doing its job properly. The other thing of concern is that after registering I thought I'd better order a spare filter. Given that they are are supposed to last a year - but that the room it is in gets dusty (despite daily hoovering with a Dyson Animal - also with HEPA filters). However I was concerned to learn that the filters are not available for this model! I checked Philips own website and they have been out of stock since I bought it and also Amazon have the 'we don't know when or if these will be available' message. This does not inspire confidence for what a new device. How can they not have any filters in the whole of Europe???? That triggered alarm bells for me so after speaking to the agent at Amazon, a return has been arranged (excellent service by the way). So I just find this odd that there isn't a single filter available from Philips for this Air Purifier - that's like selling a brand new car and saying there is no fuel available as soon as you drive it out the showroom!

+Quiet +App easy to use +Auto Function +Can get replacement filters +Feels well made +Clear display -On auto it almost never speeds up, has a high tolerance for air quality before speeding up. Other brands (Shark) much faster to respond. Overall a good air purifier which reacts to major air changes but generally runs nearly silently in the background.
