Great storage node
Pros:- Can easily install another Linux distro if you don't care for Qnap's firmware (tested Debian and Ubuntu)- Happily accepts 32G of Mushkin DDR4 2133 and WD 12TB drives- Cryptsetup benchmark shows over 1GBps read & write with AES-XTS and 256-bit keys, just under that for 512-bit, so the Celeron 3865U is well-suited for a storage node (HDs will be the bottleneck, not the CPU)- Very quiet- Surprisingly smallCons:- Memory almost requires small fingers to replace. I don't have small fingers, it was a bit of a challenge.- Not cheapYes you could build something similar for less money and more time, but it would be a challenge to make it so discreet.

There's a lot here, if you know what you're doing.
Not for the total noob, but if you take your time and read the manuals and support forums, you should be fine. If you know *nux, you're going to have a better time than if you're coming from windows. For the guy that bought this and was disappointed with the performance of SSDs in RAID 0 on it, dude. C'mon. Stop. That's like getting mad at Trump for screwing up the economy. If you knew as much as you think you know, you surely would have known what was going to happen.

Great product
This thing is awesome! I'm not much of a tech guru so it took a little to figure it out but its fast and very versatile. Far better than the WD NAS drive i replaced.

Great Quality
Great NAS. Product support is very good if you have any issues. Adding additional RAM is not easy.
