New SmartPool Nitro SmartKleen NC22 Robotic In/AboveGround Swimming Pool Cleaner

This pool cleaner is fantastic! I had bought one from Costco that lasted for years. It was pretty much the same cleaner but under a different name. This is the same thing; plug it in and let it go to work. It climbs the walls of my in ground pool-not very high but enough to get the job done. It lasts for two hours unattended then stops. The previous homeowner decided that planting wall to wall trees and shrubs around the pool was a fantastic idea. He must've loved cleaning the pool every day. I certainly don't. That's why this cleaner is handy for collecting most of the falling debris from the trees and shrubs. I use it several times a week. It's a must have for me and should last for several years.

I bought the NC22 Smart-Kleen vacuum in the fall of 2016. While this product has good suction, it is poorly made. The red snaps broke off the bottom of the machine the first year and we have had to tape it to keep it on. They are mad of cheap plastic. Also the green bag inside the machine broke in 5 places as we tried to get in on and we had to buy new ones.Our rigging with tape to hold the bottom on worked for a while but now it just sits there spinning. Also if you have a sand bottom and large persons use your pool they often leave foot prints in it. Unfortunately my daughter's boyfriend is 6'8" and weigh's around 300 pounds. It is inevitable that others will leave places in the bottom of the pool while playing pool games. I only weigh 140 and have left footprints in the bottom. This machine gets stuck in the foot prints and just sits there spinning.

it worked for about a week . I have done all that the instructions tell me to do and it still will only run for about 30 sec and stops. Will call the company on Monday for information and or parts to repair. Very unhappy with the subject pool cleaner.

I love this little guy, yes it is smaller than the several I have bought, tried and returned. But it is effective and reliable. I have tried units that cost 1,400.00 or more and they do not do the job this one does. I had its twin from CostCo for three years and missed it when it finally wore out. Figured I would try some of these other units here on Amazon (they have a great return policy and all the sellers have sent my money back) turns out that the one I started with was the best. So I am very happy with it. Although it does not have a real "swivel" on the power cord (that would make it a perfect unit) it is pretty smart about not getting too twisted up. To the credit of this seller they do not advertise that they have a swivel as other misleading seller do)I run it off a timer I bought so it runs twice a day and after 7 runs it finally needed a bit of cord attention. Meanwhile the bottom of my pool is perfect. I have several trees (I know, not a good idea) around the pool but this unit cleans the bottom even if its pretty dirty in about 1.5 hours. I have the timer installed so that no matter when I want to swim the pool will already be clean. It has a separate drive motor that runs a wide "wiping" kind of wheel and sits pretty low to the ground. I have seen it suck things in from 1.5 inches away from its edges as it passes. Not blow them away as the other units do. It costs less and does a great job.

This cleaner did a very good job with cleaning my pool. Too bad, it only lasts about 1 1/2 years. This is my second robotic pool cleaner, The first one was the pool rover, that only sucked up the dirt. And only lasted a year. This one sucks and scrubs with the rubberized front wheel. Which I like better than the pool rover.I believe the price should be lower on all of these robotic pool cleaners due to they don't last but a year, maybe 2. I take exceptional care of them, hoping to make them last, but they don't.

We had the same one that came free with our pool and used it for several years. We went with the same model when ours tore up cause we liked how good it cleaned the bottom of the pool. My husband does hate cleaning the bag out, but it does really well. We had never cleaned the pool ourselves until ours messed up. Can't live without one now. We've only had this one a few weeks, so I hope we get a long life out of it.

This is my second automatic pool cleaner. The first one was a different model, it cleaned great and lasted about 5 years. This one I noticed right out of the box, there isn't a way to make it turn clockwise or counter-clockwise. This resulted in the cord always being twisted, especially early in the season when you have to run it a few times in a row. Next I noticed that it really does a poor job of cleaning the whole pool. It seems to consistently miss the far end of the pool, even if I made sure the cleaner started in that spot. I have walk-up stairs and it always seems to find them and just get stuck there. One the plus side, the filter is is really easy to snap in and out and doesn't rely on an elastic band to seal it in place (which always wears out). Now in my second season with this cleaner, it has decided to quit working. When I plug it in and turn it on it starts, then just stops after a couple minutes.. I have to unplug it and turn it off and start over and it will do the same. Time for a new one and it wont be this brand.
