Fantastic addition the DJI Mic line and step up to Pro quality mics.
These are a great step up in DJI's Mic line. I would consider them professional quality with their capabilities and small size. The receiver can now connect up to 4 transmitters at a time, which is great for a multi cam/subject situation. Not an issue for me, but something to note, if you plan on using lav cables, these are not the right mics for you. You want the DJI Mic 2.

Best for content creators (not industry professionals)
After using the DJI Mic 2 for over a year, the Mic 3 feels like the well-needed upgrade. You still don’t have direct access for live input monitoring, but the addition of timecode support sets it apart from the Mic 2. It’s smaller, offers the same solid audio quality, and brings real improvements with better noise cancellation and longer battery life.If you already own the Mic 2, I wouldn’t say it’s worth upgrading unless the timecode feature or the smaller form factor are must-haves for you. But overall, the Mic 3 is an excellent microphone and a worthy successor to the Mic 2.

DJI Mic 3 Review – 4 Transmitters, Endless Flexibility
We recently added the DJI Mic 3 system with 4 transmitters to our studio setup, and honestly, it’s been a game-changer. Even though our main podcast mics are Shure SM7Bs, having these wireless transmitters as backups (or for quick, on-the-go recording) adds so much flexibility. No more scrambling when a guest wants to move around or when we need to capture something outside the studio—just clip and go.The audio quality is surprisingly solid for a wireless system, and the build feels premium. The ability to have 4 transmitters in one kit is huge for podcasting because it means everyone at the table can have a mic ready, or we can keep a couple as spares without juggling gear mid-session.We haven’t tested the timecode feature yet, but that’s next on our list, along with adding more receivers to expand the setup even further. If you’re running a podcast or any multi-person recording setup, this system is worth a serious look. It’s all about options, and DJI nailed it here.

Great for Content Creators (if you don’t need a lav)
Overall: this is a great content creator mic set with a lot of features, especially useful if you have DJI devices like an osmo. Audio quality is great (especially if you make sure your settings are tuned to your environment). The biggest downside worth noting is there is no lav mic input on the transmitters, so you are stuck with having to see the mics (though they are impressively small). And you’ll definitely need to take time to figure out how to change all the settings before you take these into the field. But if you primarily shoot on your phone and/or an osmo product and don’t care about seeing mic packs then these are tailor-made for you.PRO’s:-32 bit float recorded internally on the transmitters (you have to enable that function though)-complete set comes with everything you need and fits into one case.-removable USB attachment for RX unit to plug directly into phone or computer-seamless integration with iOS and linking audio to video-timecode! You can use your RX unit connected to a camera and sync timecode so post production is simplified. You can sync it to your phones clock or freerun it.-mic packs are tiny and easy to clip on. Magnet clips are very strong! Attached to my toddler running around on a playground and didnt slip at all.-lots of options for controlling your audio (possibly too many), including low cut filter, different levels of noice reduction, as well as 3 tone control options AND adaptive gain control.-charging case also acts as data transfer hub. This is a pretty clever feature actually. Instead of having USB ports on every device, you pop them into the case and connect the case to a computer or phone to download the audio files.-audio quality is pretty excellent for this class of microphone.CON’s:-NO LAV INPUT! This will make or break it for a lot of people, I’m sure. In a lot of ways I understand the move not to include this, given that a lot of content creators really don’t care about seeing the mic packs and this does shrink the footprint of the mic itself, BUT anyone considering this vs Rode for more flexibility in a variety of filming environments will be put off by this. Considering the DJI mic 2 has lav inputs AND 32 bit float, it IS a head scratching omission. But perhaps they will keep selling both alongside each other for different users.-touch screen on the RX is a bit tricky to use if you have big fingers. You’ll definitely want to make use of the Lock Screen feature once you’ve configured everything as it’s fairly sensitive and I accidentally stopped the recording a couple times during testing.-the available options for tone/noise control might be a bit confusing for some. They are great to have if you’re familiar with how to use them but you’re going to have to do a lot of testing to figure out which combination will work for you depending on your environment. In that way, to get the most of these you’ll need to have a little more technical know-how or at least a bit of patience to experiment. FOR EXAMPLE: I took it out to test with my kid outside on a playground and I had it set to default gain and strong noise reduction, as I anticipated a fair bit of rustling, wind, etc. from a fully active toddler outdoors. No adaptive gain control enabled. I found that the noise reduction was often too aggressive, as it would dampen my kids voice at the start of speaking before it recognized the gain difference. It sounded clean for sure but maybe that setting should be only used in an actively windy or busy outdoor setting. It’s a bit of a personal need bias but if there was a lav input, I wouldn’t hesitate to give this 5 stars for all the functions and overall quality. I would go as far to say it would be very competitive against the rode wireless go/pro systems were that the case, but without it, it keeps this system squarely in the content creator realm and out of the usefulness of more advanced videographers/indie filmmakers. Again, I think it makes sense in a lot of ways, but maybe it’s because it has so many other features in such a small package already that it’s a bit of a letdown not to just allow it to compete in a broader market.
