Had to just about boil it, though, and for more than ten minutes at that. Also had to use about 10% per weight to get the desired effect - for me that was about 5g for a 50g hat. Naturally, the hat shrank and now does not fit my head, but I'll just order another one size up and try it again. Review: Don't bother. - Terrible. To make it work ( supposedly), is an ordeal. I had recently dyed a dress that was see through but the dye came out patchy and I was mortified. I thought I would have to buy another dress but I came across this color remover. The dress I used it on was a rayon and spandex blend. It was originally light gray but I dyed it black with Dylon fabric dye. I was surprised that it worked so well and restored it to its original light gray color. I'm very happy, and can't wait to use it again. I did not use the stovetop method on the instructions. I used very hot water and a basin. I stirred it as it says on the instructions and made sure the water was always very very hot. Super happy it worked and saved my dress. Also, it does not work on polyester. Not sure if it's in the description box but I only found out when I read it on the bottle.
