I would like to leave it in my ice tray** A: OA length is approx. 8-1/2"; the "bowl" is approx. 5-1/2" long and also 2" deep at the back of the scoop. I find it perfect for daily use, such as adding four or five ice cubes to a drink or similar uses. I like the size, and the black rubber over-molding that covers the handle and cups/supports the bowl provides a nice grip. I have small hands and this fits perfectly in hand for my needs; someone with large hands may find a larger scoop is easier to hold and use. The handle itself is approx. 3-1/8" long. After looking at various plastic scoops, I choose this one. Oxo is a well known brand, and I have always been happy with their other kitchen utensils which I have purchased in the past. The scoop is a good size, a little on the smaller size but not too small. It fits into the ice bin well and scoops out a good amount of ice each time. It feels sturdy, and is easy to clean. I haven't put it in the dishwasher yet, but it is advertised as dishwasher safe. After I clean up the ice maker, the scoop fits in the bin which makes it handy to store. I have small hands and the handle is a little short even for me. If you have large hands, it might be a little awkward to use.
