Does it have a resistor for lower voltage? My chamberlain opener requires resistance to operate the switch.

OK-if I'm wrong someone let me know please. I have installed many garage door openers and they all have only been 2 wires. The switch closes the circuit between those 2 wires. Is your opener button lighted ? If so, the resister is only there to light that switch. The resister allows just enough elect to light the switch for finding it in the dark- but not enough to trigger the opener. When you push the switch you are just connecting those wires with a "full" contact. That is what the keyed switch will do--but without a light. One way to check this out-at the opener motor look where the opener button wires are hooked up--under two screws--real small wires-usually together --one side with a red (or other color) stripe on it. Take a small piece of wire and cross those 2 screws for just a moment. That should open (or close) the door. In my 40ish years of doing this kind of work I have never seen anything different. Hope this helps some. ---unless your manual says you have to have a resister--while looking up opener buttons (Amazon)-one of them says not to use more then 1 lighted switch--my thoughts would be--too many lighted switches would allow enough power through to trigger the opener-

Will this work with old style openers that do not have safety sensors?

Yes. I door has no safety sensors on it. Works really great.

Do i wire it to the garage door opener or the garage door motor

Either one. I connected mine to the push button that activates the opener, but you can connect it to the terminals on the opener itself. The only reason I ran my wiring to the button is that there's so much junk in my garage I can't reach the opener.

Can I Get two switches keyed alike?

I don't know the answer you want, but often an old-style locksmith can either re-key or provide a "master key" on these. I have had both done countless times on the flat-key variety of locks. I'm guessing no one wants to sort through their inventory to find identical key numbers.
