Great insights into a bank trader’s lifestyle
Funny, sad, honest. I enjoyed reading this book from the perspective of someone who has become a critic of capitalism, about his indoctrination into this viewpoint

An insider view
Great read... An insider's expose of life on the trading floor at Citigroup...

It is more than numbers. Most human book about trading
I think every trader should read this for once. It's less about trading and more about whats going on behind the scenes and how it affects you and everyone. It's more like a autobiography of Gary and you can learn few things from it. On some parts you might even relate with him too as a trader and as a human too.

An absolutely gripping read.
Once you get into the story, there’s no going back.

Good story, but fails to inspire the purpose it intended the achieve
On the factual side, the book's an eye opener. The mechanics of traders influence the flow of money & prices is definitely illuminating. The journey of the author from humble beginnings to reaching stratospheric levels (financially) makes for a good read. His single minded focus & hard work is inspirational. What doesn't sit right with me, is the delivery of the narrative. While the author intended to decry the whole concept of capitalism (with rich getting richer & poor getting poor), the narrative seems to glorify the work of a trader - the daily grind of buys & sells is easily overshadows with the high (and the ever more highs) of earning millions in profits (for the trader). The part on maintaining scoresheet-equivalent of how much you've earned every month gamifies the experience, makes it adrenaline-rushing & makes one partake of it - the exact opposite of what the author claims he wants to achieve with this book.Reading the book lelt to me like the warning on a cigarette pack - intended to scare people off the vice, but ends up doing the opposite.
