Analog Discovery Systems Kit: USB Oscilloscope & Logic Analyzer

While looking for a decent scope a few years back I ran across this unit. I read all the reviews and was honestly a little skeptical about the performance of such an affordable option, so I held off. I just recently decided to order it and give it a try. I couldn't be happier with it! The unit is easy to set up and the software is completely plug and play. Some experimentation is required to get the software to display all the information about the circuit being analyzed(frequency,period, peak-to-peak, etc..), but the learning curve is very slight. I tested the scope on a known circuit and found it to be surprisingly accurate. Understand what this is, if I needed absolute precision for filtering circuits then I'd buy a standalone unit that's designed for that, but this is more than accurate enough for 90% of electronics applications. All the equipment of a lab in a unit, that fits in a laptop case, makes this the swiss army knife of electrical analysis!

The new one is available, and probably awesome but the Discovery 2 is everything I needed and considerably cheaper.

If you are looking for an adorable home electronics lab, this is the device for you. As an EE student, I quickly found that my sanity depended on my being able to complete required lab assignments at home but I needed an oscilloscope, waveform generator, and positive/negative DC power supply. The Analog Discovery 2 Kit is exactly that. It is relatively easy to use and since purchasing I have used it both for school and personal use.I love this device and would recommend it for anyone.

Accurate, stable, fast, very low jitter. Scope probes are not the greatest but will do.

This is way more than just an "oscilloscope" it's more a tool box full of useful bits and pieces. You can indeed use it as a logic analyzer or a scope. You can also use it as the center of just about any project that needs a DAC, an ADC, or a bunch of IO. Very useful !!!

As I just planed to use it for hobby purposes, I was a bit hesitant to spend the money for the Analog Discovery, but I find I use it all the time. It is so nice to be able to see what a circuit is actually doing. Well worth every penny.

I love this product. I use it for all my electronics and microcontrollers classes. It takes the big clunky oscilloscopes, power supplies, and just about anything else you’d use and puts it into a tiny device.
