Desert Gardens Posole Seasoning Mix (Pack of 4)

My spouse is Mexican and loves pozole. I thought I could save time with this seasoning, and put in one and a half envelopes along with pork ribs, onions, hominy, carrot, fresh oregano and thyme, and bay leaf in broth. It simmered for a couple of hours and he loved it, and has asked me to make more. This was a better result than grinding all those spices and having watery eyes all day. It's a win! I have ordered more, and ALSO--it makes terrific seasoning for spicy Chex Mix!

First in spanish is "pozole" with "z" no with "s". Besides that the flavor is correct but it is very spicy (I say this for people that don't like spicy at all). This product is an easy way to cook spicy pozole, the instructions are NOT clear but well I'm mexican, I know how to work with it. I added more oregano and bay leaves for more flavor.

For years I've kept packets of this mix and a few cans of hominy in my pantry to whip up a batch of posole on cold days. All the Desert Garden products are superb but this is my favorite. Easy healthy meal and a delicious taste of the Southwest.

This was every bit as good as advertised. The flight routes very zesty and useful with my recipes.

A wonderful seasoning for my Chile Verde recipe. I highly recommend it to others.

I love the flavor. But a bit spicey

I made chile Verde with this seasoning. It was awesome.

Made Posole soup with these seasonings. The soup was good and got a number of complements. But the price seems to be quite high for non exotic contents. Salt, onion,chilly powder, garlic, pepper, cumin,basil and oregano. When I finish the 4 packages (that was the only size available) I will mix my own.
