I've been a Crohn's Disease sufferer for about 3 years now. When it flare ups, I end up spending a lot of time in the bathroom - sometimes 8-10 trips a day. Because of that, I have developed both internal and external hemorrhoids which can sometimes become very swollen and highly irritated - almost torturous. For awhile, Tucks and Preparation H were sufficient to make things livable, but eventually the irritation escalated to the point I needed to look elsewhere for relief. I tried the Mayinglong Musk Hemorrhoids Ointment sold here on Amazon. It actually worked better than the Preparation H - the swelling went down significantly and the irritation seemed to reach a tolerable stage, but the odor many users spoke of in reviews was just too overpowering. Overpowering to the point I didn't feel going out in public while using it was a good idea. And the smell seemed to linger at home as well - especially in the laundry hamper and the trash where I was disposing of the rubber gloves I used to apply it. So, I went back to Amazon searching for something else and came across Alleviate. With only 4 reviews I was very skeptical and hesitant to give it a try especially at the $29.95 price point it was being offered at. But all 4 reviews were 5 star and I was desperate for a solution so decided to give it a shot. Glad I did. This stuff is amazing. I had immediate relief the first night I used it. Overnight, my hemorrhoids shrunk down to a size I haven't experienced in a very long time. And the itching was gone. I continued to use it for the next 3-4 days and saw improvement in all areas. I'm to the point now where I don't believe there can be any further improvement, but I'm hesitant to stop using it - the cooling, soothing effect it has is so pleasant and such a relief. The fact it is 100% organic is a plus for someone like me who is already laden with a steady diet of prescriptions and pills to keep my Crohn's Disease in check. And unlike the Chinese Musk product this has a nice scent to it - to me somewhat floral, but by no means overpowering. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, a little of this goes a long way. When I first started using it, I might have been a bit too liberal while squeezing the tube. After a few days, I could see that using less than half of what I did on day one was sufficient enough without losing the effects of the product. To anyone who is considering this, but leery because of the price tag - just do it. Put this in your cart and I promise you that you won't regret it. This stuff is really that good! Update as of March 21, 2014 I just wanted to add that because of the success I've had with this product I have since ordered a second tube and plan on making Alleviate a permanent part of my daily regimen. Alleviate is fantastic and has been a godsend for me. I now have continuous relief from the pain, swelling, and irritation of hemorrhoids. It has enabled me to resume a more normal lifestyle and do many activities I couldn't do before - walking, bike riding, and golf to name a few.

Well if you are reading this then likely you have taken to the internet to find a backup plan for hemorrhoid relief that can't be bought at a box store, aka Prep H or tucks. I am in medicine, so am fairly skeptical about "all natural" cures. I have managed hemorrhoids on and off with over the counter. Until recently, I had a rather mean, itchy, painful guy I just couldn't shake. Likely, a thrombosed external guy. Damn, it was bugging me. So this sent me searching. Seriously, I was to the point of asking for a scalpel to excise this beast. Anyhow, I found this product on amazon and it had impressive reviews. I would say it is pretty costly, but I was in to give it a try, and also ordered their treatment capsules as well. One thing I do know is witch hazel is a pretty good anti inflammatory/ astringent so have had luck using it with cotton balls out of the bottle. Anyhow, I got this tube and applied. First off I tend to like lotion type PrepH as it is a lot cleaner to wash my hand after application. This is more of an ointment base. Ointments stick around well and coat better, but are oily and are tough to wash. That being said, there is some nice menthol like coolness to this. In conjunction I also used their oral capsules. Of course psyllium husk is used as a stool softener so this seemed to have some science base, and I noted the witchhazel powder. I figured it couldn't hurt. Anyhow, in three days my painful guy went away. Color me impressed. I don't like the price, but have used it since and really like it. Hands down worth it vs the over the counter. The capsules also help, but I have never really tried start psyllium husk to compare. I now use these in combination when I have an issue. Never had a better regime. I wouldn't have believed it but these are quality products and I would buy again.

[Original review below] I ordered this product three days ago and paid for rushed shipping. I have been suffering with a random occurrence of hemorrhoids and it has been the most painful experience of my life. I had no relief from the constant pain, it was hard for me to sit, bend over to urinate, lay down, sleep, you name it and it was extremely painful and uncomfortable. I was desperate to try anything and I am so glad I found this cream. I put it on for the first time last night and it was worth all the money for just the pain relief! It had a effect I would say is similar to that of icy hot, but without the burning hot after the cooling effect, it immediately soothed my pain and overnight one of my two hemorrhoids has shrunk at least in half. This was incredible because it was on the first night!! I am so excited to see how this helps me improve as the time goes on. I will update again in a few weeks to let everyone know, but I have very high hopes for this cream! It was worth every penny, thank you SO MUCH NATICURA!!!! Update 4/13/14: I am currently still using this product to control my itching and discomfort after every BM. The day prior to receiving this product, my external hemorrhoid had burst and this provided me with pain and itching relief that can get pretty intense as your hemorrhoid heals. To my knowledge, I had two active hemorrhoids and the smaller one was healed in days of using this cream, which I found incredible. The cooling effect is still my favorite part of the product and If I ever happen to get hemorrhoids again, which I pray to God I don't, I am definitely going to purchase another container of this. Update 4/23/14: I continued to use the product, only applying once a day once my hemorrhoid swelling went down. It still provides itching and some pain relief after my BM. I truly believe this product sped up my healing for something I thought would never go away. This will be my last update since my symptoms have all but disappeared. I will now keep my body healthy and try to avoid the causes of my hemorrhoids for the future. Good luck everyone!

Say it will help with bleeding, directions clearly say for external use only. This company is a RIP OFF!!!!! In addition once you get the product you can not return it, or get your moneyback!

It definitely works! Feels a little cooling when you first apply but it smells really good!

My journey with hemorrhoids has led me to believe that NOTHING really cures them, it's a process you have to endure, but there are things that can help. I tried Alleviate cream and my review is that it is NOT a good value for painful external hemorrhoids - it did VERY little. Here is my story and what worked. I recently I had a pretty bad outbreak. It was about the size of a lima bean, but hurt like the dickens and bleeding (a first for me). I first tried all of the conventional remedies and spent close to $100 on various products. I tried Alleviate after trying Prep H suppositories, Tucks, H-Hemorrhoids (another natural cure with similar ingredients to Alleviate), tea tree oil, neem oil, coconut oil, to name a few, oh and Dibucaine cream which DOES give real relief when in pain (mine was so bad I could barely walk). I had high hopes for Alleviate, but it was mediocre at best, and it's expensive. It is soothing for a few minutes but does not keep the pain at bay for very long. But please read on for what worked! I did not give up, I kept on researching and I found something CHEAP, that DOES work...it's probably in your kitchen...turmeric powder. This was truly a blessing of a discovery. A home made turmeric paste actually reduced the bleeding overnight. Within a few days the swelling went down and the pain subsided. I hope this information can help someone. If you want to try it there is a youtube video - search for 'turmeric hemorrhoids' and watch the video with the Indian lady. She suggests mustard oil, but olive oil or coconut oil or even ghee should work. Turmeric really works and costs next to nothing. Do this at least 2x a day, and also take sitz baths. Also you should take a fiber supplement to keep your stools soft (I used methyl cellulose). And lastly do not use any suppositories if it is bleeding. Wait for it to stop bleeding and then get a vitamin E suppository which is very healing. And always ALWAYS use wet toilet tissue to wipe after bowel movement. I soaked with pure witch hazel after every bowel movement. Be very gentle and it will eventually go away. Hope this helps!
