Brock Biology of Microorganisms: International Edition

I don't need any other book for microbiology, this is the most interesting by far. Easy to understands. Lot's of pictures. The questions after each topic with a short summary helps a lot.

A grt product for anyone who is pursuing a degree( either a bachelor's, masters or diploma) in microbiology and is even helpful for research purpose.

The world standard for excellent microbiology text. Nearly the same as the imported American edition, but significantly more affordable.

The book is good but the thing is that the which was sold to me is older one and it'S code for registration is expired

The book as I wanted. Perfect for the study. But the way the delivery boy talks for the collection of the material is disappointing

Simply superb

"Brock" (as it's known!) is without doubt not just the best Microbiology textbook available but one of the best textbooks period. The book is logically set out, beginning with basic introductory material covering areas such as how we define a microorganism, cell structure, evolution, diversity and biochemistry before moving on to more complex general topics, including microbial growth, bioenergetics, catabolism and molecular biology. Brevia on Virology and Mycology are given, before moving on to the main sections on Bacteria and Archaea, arranged in terms of the taxonomy used in Bergey's Manual (the Microbiology Bible), going through the Proteobacteria by Class before covering Gram positive Bacteria and all the other various groups. Archaea are covered in more depth than you'd find in any other general Microbiology text, which is fantastic. The book ends with various applied topics such as medical Microbiology, Biotechnology, Ecology and Biogeochemistry.The text is a very rich one - it's clearly laid out with a good use of colour and some absolutely beautiful photographs and photomicrographs, which are related directly to the text and serve to really reinforce points, rather than just to illustrate them. Concept Checks and Review Questions compliment each section and draw together material from other areas. As textbooks go, you really couldn't want anything more. With every edition, Brock just goes from strength to strengh.

It is clean just like a new

Ich habe dieses Buch bestellt, weil es für mein Studium wichtig und zumindest die deutsche Ausgabe hervorragend ist. Am Buch ist auch nichts auszusetzen; bzw hätte ich da wohl nichts dran auszusetzen gehabt, hätte ich das Buch erhalten. Die Bestellung kam auch nach 4 Wochen nicht an; ich kontaktierte den Support und diese haben sich netterweise dazu bereit erklärt, mir eine "Kopie" zu schicken. Nach etwa einer Woche bekam ich dann auch ein Paket vom Händler, darin ein Buch über wie es mir schien Architektur. Definitiv nicht das, was ich bestellt hatte. Aus Genervtheit liegt das jetzt bei mir zu Hause rum und ich werde mich hüten, bei diesem Händler je wieder etwas zu bestellen.

This is one of the few micro texts which encapsulates a general overview of the subject while making it easy to digest at the same time. The diagrams are easy to understand and there is plenty of supporting material. This should be an essential if you're studying microbiology for the first time.

Der Brock ist für sein Fachgebiet nicht zu schlagen. Als generelles Nachschlagewerk findet man detaillierte Infos zu grundsätzlichen wie speziellen Zusammenhängen. Für das Studiem der Biologie o.ä. absolut geeignet+zu empfehlen.
