Munchkin Panic, Multi-Colored

I got this game because it can be played by two players. After several failed rounds with my very strategic husband, I'm not entirely sure it can be WON by two players! It's easy to learn, has a good pace, and it's adorable, but we've been scratching our heads trying to figure out how to conquer it.Challenge #1: once a munchkin breaches the castle, it's very difficult to kill it because there aren't many cards you can play inside the castle walls. That munchkin continues moving clockwise and takes out other castles, and if it's a nasty munchkin that requires two hit points at once to kill, the chances of getting two cards that can be played inside the castle walls are slim to none. If you get stuck with more than one munchkin breaching the walls - game over. Two people cannot defeat multiple munchkins inside the castle. They just can't.Challenge #2: with only two players, it's absolutely vital to help each other, so much so that it makes negotiating a moot point. If you don't play cooperatively, there's just no way for two players to beat the game, at least as far as we can see.Despite its flaws, we both love the game and I expect it will stay in our "favorites" rotation for a while. It just may not be the BEST 2-player choice.

Fun! It is nice to have a game where you can work together against the monsters and still be a little "munckiny". Very enjoyable game that is fast to play. It is also nice to be able to play something munckiny with just two players. The regular munchkin game is just no fun with only two people.

Got as a gift. I don’t like munchkin and didn’t want to play but, I enjoyed it! It’s so much fun!

slightly confused on some of the rules but after watching a few tutorials and re-reading the rules it was a fun game.

A lot of fun to play with friends, especially if you're already a Munchkin-type player. But even the Castle Panic portion of the game is fun and challenging with that strange Highlander Feel. We will work together, but in the end, there can only be one winner. Love games like that.

I have 2 boys (7 years old and 5 years old) who LOVE to play Castle Panic. The open face card play, collective strategy, and fun actions make it a HUGE hit in our home. We play at least once a week. Drawing a bit board with the game we purchased an expansion (Engines of War) and again enjoyed family game time. We purchased Munchkin Panic with great excitement but found it VERY challenging to understand and navigate with our children. GRANTED our children are 5 and 7, NOT the recommended 10 years old and up for this game. The game is less cooperative with closed faced card play. This game also highlights becoming a Master Slayer/Master Munchkin with the collection of monsters which encourages less cooperation. The game has a "Negotiation" element where rather than simply trading a card with an opponent you're able to trade a card while negotiating for the Treasure Cards associated with the Monster's slaying and/or the Monster points to be totaled at the end. The Treasure cards are 3+ sentences and each change the dynamics of the game....but are too challenging for my young gamers. My husband and I will greatly enjoy this new game but it's too advanced for our younger kids. If you have young kids I'd recommend standard Castle Panic. It's a WINNER!!!

Great game with lots of ways of playing.Pros:-Not extremely complicated-Fun for the whole family-Strategy is necessary to winCons:-Lots of pieces and rules to learn off the bat, but once you get that down it's a piece of cake!

Great game! We’ve played the original with friends, so thought we’d get the kids version so that we can play as a family.

It's ok to pass the time but gets very samey after a few run throughs. We'll crack it out from time to time, but there are better games in this bracket (Munchkin itself for starters) if you're looking for something casual and fun.

EPIC - if you love Munchkin ...and Castle Panic, come to that, you will no doubt LOVE this game.
