I came and ordered this lock while researching trailer locks; it is easy to use, very heavy duty and effective. I would definitely recommend it if you have concerns about someone breaking into your trailer. Although locks won't stop determined or well-equipped thief; they do slow them down or prompt them to look elsewhere. If you combine this with a Proven Industries hitch lock (available on Amazon) and an optional battery powered alarm (such as the Wsdcam 113dB Wireless Waterproof Alarm with Remote available on Amazon); thieves will move along to a trailer that is less protected.

It does hang down from the top with a little exposure to the latch,however all I did was cement glue a thick piece of rubber on the bottom & its nice & snug now

Let me start off saying that amp lock makes excellent, well built, solid locks for theft prevention (I own two other kinds of their trailer tongue locks).I am somewhat disappointed with this hasp lock as it has so much "slop" or play in it, giving so much unnecessary exposure to the hasp. You can see in the pictures I've provided how easily a Sawzall metal cutting blade can simply slide behind the lock itself and someone could just go at it and cut away the hasp.

Extremely heavy duty and secure! I won’t lose any sleep at night over thousands of dollars worth of tools being stolen from a broken in job-site trailer. You get what You pay for...I have the baylock hasp lock on another trailer and it is no comparison to this.

Extremely heavy duty lock, covering any points of access for bolt cutters to get into. Well thought-out. Ordered three locks but unfortunately they came with all different Keys instead of one key working for all three. And unfortunately it's quite challenging to get the key in and the lock to open even on a brand new set of locks. That being said after a bit of finesse it is openable it's still challenging.

My trailer hasn't been broken into.

Top notch lock, highly recommend this lock. I like that it covers the entire locking mechanism.

The lock itself is very durable. A little hard to unlock as the lock cylinder is in the bottom. Keep in mind good locks are only as good as what they are attached to. Unfortunately most trailers hasp are cheap and easy to break. What this lock does is give a great way for crow bar /pipe wrench atrack. It gives a large pry point to pull both the lock and lock hardware right through the door. Pipe wrench will grab the lock and twisting will most likely defeat trailere hasp. It is also possible to get a cable wrapped around it and pull trailer hardware through the door. In my opinion a high quality $(100.00 plus) pad lock is less likely to be defeated by above described attacks. One other point. The padlock I pulled off to try this lock had a 7/16 shackle (the largest possible size for most trailer hasp). This lock is around 5/16 shackle which makes a huge difference in twisting attack (pipe wrench or similiar).

If you have an enclosed trailer with thousands of dollars worth of tools and equipment inside; this is the padlock you need. Beefy, sturdy... I am pretty confident thieves will look elsewhere, it will take some time to get rid of this padlock. A little pricey but when you compare with other padlocks; it is a no brainer. Bonus: it is made in Canada.

I received the lock today, two business days after ordering so really quick shipping. First impressions: the quality is above any other lock i have had so far. Really well done, made to fit over the whole trailer door mecanism and easy to put in place. The paint quality is awesome, i am sure it will last for long even with the cold winters over here with the salt and freezing temperature. A little expensive compared to hockey pucks shaped locks but if it last for a long time worth it, only time will tell. Not to forget that it is made in Canada.Great lock to protect your worthy tools located in your utility trailer.

These locks are very dependable and are a must for locking up your trailer.I use these locks on my 7x14 enclosed trailer.
